Table “numbers”

Samantha, on January 22, 2021 at 11:56 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 25
We really like our cats. I was born a cat lady and my FH has turned into a cat man after being around me so much.
Instead if table numbers we are going to name them after our cats - a cute drawing and a funny bio. “Bumblebee is part Himalayan and part street cat. He is a crafty lair and will convince everyone he has not been fed while still licking his chops from his most recent meal. Dislikes loud noises and vacuums.”
We have four. Would you -1. Also use cats that are no longer here because you love them? Or2. Some shelter cats with info on how to adopt them - a short “dating profile” or something?
I KNOW IT’S SILLY.

I would use cats you have personally owned (or owned you). You can provide shelter info separately but I wouldn't use it as your table numbers

Whimsy is something people get, or they don't. It pleases you, and no one will be testing guests to see if they read it. So why not? Real cats, cartoon cats, cheshire cats. Have fun with it.

Ok so I guess the “get your keys back when you answer these five questions” plan is out.
    Kidding!

You could do both. Use names and then associate them with a table number.

Sometimes on here, and with reality TV, I think people are hesitant to try things because everyone is always out to top everybody or be unique. Easy to forget, it is a party. Avoid hurt feelings, and intentional or unintentional rudeness. But if cats amuse you, they likely will some others. That kind of individual creativity is nice, for centerpieces and little side tables of guestbooks and escort cards.

I think skip the adoption option and focus on your cats (with you today, or those in Kitty heaven). As a fellow cat person, this is so cute!

If I went to a wedding where the table numbers were adoptable cats, after a few drinks I would be trying to convince my fiance why we needed to stop on the way home. Which is to say I WOULD LOVE IT. Can you imagine if one of the fur babies got adopted because of your wedding??

I love this idea!!! Also, I agree with Pirate & 60s Bride - I would focus the table names on just your cats.

I love this idea! It’s so personal!! I’m a sentimental type, so if it were me I would pick with kitties who you owned and passed away, but you do you!!!

By the way, we did island names for our tables and I loved it ❤️ We had a little chart at the card table with the names so guests knew where it was located.

I think this is a really adorable idea. I would absolutely love reading the bios. I already have 2 cats but I'm sure you'd have me convinced to adopt a 3rd (I really don't need much of a push 😂) Plus it's a really fun way to let guests see a more personal side to who you guys are, which can never hurt!

You do need another cat LOL
We’re topped out at four because one of them is just a jerk and we are a delicate peace right now.

One more idea! You could also have a cat guestbook sign. Something like these (Etsy has great options):
    Table “numbers” 7
    Table “numbers” 8
(this can probably be done with cats instead of dogs)
