Table Numbers

Stephanie, on June 21, 2019 at 9:40 PM Posted in Planning 1 20
I am stumped on what to do for table numbers. I wanted to do something creative and more than just a number on a piece of paper but I also do not want to spend a lot of money on them. I was thinking of maybe taking photos from engagement session and put the number with a picture. Another idea I had was instead of numbers, label the tables by types of trees. Our theme is rustic with lots of wood decorations. I thought the tree names would be different and cute but FH doesn't like that idea. What are you doing for your table numbers? Thank you!

We painted hockey pucks. Can you get little rounds of wood and burn in numbers?

I'll be naming the tables by song requests.

I'm asking all guests to submit their song requests with their food choice for invites. We will go over them and pick favorites by the seating chart and designated the table by the song - will still have a number for easier display. This alleviates creativity and preventing the DJ from taking requests.

Our theme is also rustic, and we didnt want to spend much. We plan on doing childhood photos of the bride and groom per table based on the ages

I like the tree name idea!

For our local 50’s/60’s reception, we did names of era singers: Frank Sinatra, Peggy Lee, Sammy Davis Jr, etc. Hubby printed out black & white 5x7 pics with their name on it and then got $1 frames at the Dollar Store.

What we are planning to do is have pictures from when we were kids.

For example table 2 would have a picture when we were two with the number attached, number 10 from when we were 10 etc.

I was also thinking maybe you can do numbers on wood blocks. I have attached

    a picture of the idea.

We did Disney couples (Ariel and Eric, Rapunzel and Eugene, etc.). I think the tree names are cool, personally, but you could definitely do the numbers on rounds of wood and it would look very nice.

This is what I did for the placecard holders. Shells that had a slit on top so that you can put a tab with their name on it. Everyone kept theirs, so BOOM! Party favors and placecards taken care of. They are actually a bit hard to find though, so hey, if you're interested let me know Smiley smile

    Congratulations!

Depending on how many people come, I’d like to number our tables based on the years we have been together and couple it with a picture of us from that year.

OK- so this is a bit out of the box...I admit. Smiley smile My partner and I are getting married in August and we are a bit of the artsy type. Since it is a gay wedding and we wanted to bring some fun to our tables, we made these for out table numbers. Frames for $0.99, table number cards were all bought at Salvation Army for $2.00 (for the box), metal base tray $0.99, ken dolls (ebay- 15 for about $0.99 each), silver paint (had previously), and black paint marker ($2). We know this won't be everyone's cup of tea, but we really love them and we are getting lots of smiles and compliments from friends and family. We think they're really fun, they were well priced, and they totally represent us.

Thanks, Sinead! We are happy with them and they seem to fit with our very non-traditional wedding. We are doing tons of DIY- we find it not only cuts down on costs, but it allows us to make things personal for our event in a way that represents us as a couple. My partner and I love artsy crafty projects that make people smile so we've really enjoyed this part of the process, too. Michaels craft store has been a best friend lately- as have the makers of all the paint, glue, metal we've been using for our projects. Are you doing DIY for your wedding? What types of things are you making for your special day?

You're so right! DIYing is a great way to try to keep costs down, especially if you and your partner are crafty! That's an extra bonus!

As for me, I'm not currently planning my wedding. I actually work with WeddingWire on their forums answering members questions and offering advice where I can. It's such a fun job and I definitely feel like I will be prepared when my own engagement comes around!
