Table numbers vs Table labels

Starting to get my seating chart figured out and I originally thought we would just do numbers. But now that everything is coming together, I'm thinking of doing table names of hikes/trails we have gone on together. The wedding is in the mountains, our cake topper says "love at first hike", and our two signature cocktails are called "the hitched hiker" and "the rock climber" so everything is kind of coming together as hiking themed even though we didn't really plan it that way. What do ya'll think about naming the tables by trails we have hiked together?

It's a great idea and it fits with your theme.
We are doing something similar. We have a travel theme as FH and I both travel extensively for both work and pleasure. We are naming our tables places we have traveled together and will then have pictures of us at that location on the table.

I think that is a great idea! I am naming my tables after the 12 months of the year (assuming I will have 12 tables), and writing a little story of something we’ve done in that month to put in a frame on the table.

Super cute idea! but I would possibly advise against it if you have a large # of tables. The nice thing with numbers is people can usually be like "ok here's table 1 and 2 and I'm at table 12 so that's got to be over there" but with names people will have to look at each table name until they find theirs. (I hate that I'm the bummer on this one because I do love the idea)

I don't think it'll be that big of an issue. We should only have 8 tables and the room is pretty small so it won't be like people having to search through a huge ballroom. Good thinking though!

That is super cute. I used numbers that have meaning in our relationship for our tables. Ex: 19 the day in January we had our first date.

We’re huge Springsteen fans- we even met at a concert. We are naming our tables after songs. Our wedding website also has names of songs like Dancing in the Dark instead of Reception. The best thing about all of this is that it’s a way to personalize your day without spending even more money!
