Table Favors for oot Guests

Caitlyn, on July 6, 2019 at 3:14 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 10

Hello, 95% of my guest list is from out of town and I'm debating if table favors are worth it. I personally don't care for them, but my FH thinks they are nice. If we have favors I want them to be fairly inexpensive and something people would use and/or eat. Any ideas out there?

Were planning to do a candy buffet, but it is still going to cost between $100-$150 just for the candy.

I find favors to be a complete waste of money myself. Can you do something simple, like Hershey kisses?

We are doing lottery tickets in a wax paper envelope off Amazon with a penny inside.

Saw it done at a wedding we recently attended and loved it.

So, ultimately this is costing us $1 per scratch off, $.01 per coin, and about $8 for envelopes.

We’ll have mostly OOT guests as well and I don’t feel like a favor can adequately express how grateful we are that nearly every guest has to fly across the country to support us. So, we are talking about doing a simple welcome party and providing welcome bags with some local info (hopefully free from AAA or a visitors center), maybe a treat, and a guide to some of our favorite places (e.g. our date night pizza place and the off the beaten path place that we love). I think this is definitely a “know your crowd” sort of thing.

I loved the lotto tickets idea I just read about, however I found some glasses you can customize is about 4$ total. Elegant and useful

An edible favor maybe? Candy, a cookie?
