Table Decorations to-go

Anna, on October 29, 2022 at 2:32 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 7
So I am using some of our decor from our house to decorate our reception tables. We are having a Halloween wedding for reference. I do not want people to take my centerpieces/ table decorations.

How/when do we say don’t remove any items from the venue? Table Decorations to-go 1

I didn't expect that type of grabbing of table decorations to occur. I only can think of the systems the stores and libraries use. But that solution is too costly (unless there are informal solutions that are similar).

I've honestly never heard of guests taking decor from weddings so telling people not to take stuff seems unnecessary to me.

I’ve never seen a guest take a centerpiece before. Is this something that commonly occurs in your area/social circle question

No but it occurred at my sister-in-law’s and it got me thinking. So I wanted to see if others had similar issues.

Oh wow, people actually took items from their tables?! I’m not sure how you would go about conveying to people not to take items that don’t belong to them – you would think that would be common knowledge! But if you are using items from your home, you definitely don’t want people walking off with them! Maybe you could have the DJ make an announcement? Or, if you are really worried about it, maybe just don’t use any of your belongings that you would be heartbroken to not get back.

Ive seen people be told they can take the centerpieces, I ve even seen centerpieces be raffled off but I ve never seen people just walking out with decor without permission. A lot of times decor is rented so it would be really rude to just take something. I d write your name on the bottom of everything you do not want misplaced. Best of luck to you.

This depends on your social circle. Some groups, especially when they DIY the setup/tear down, will automatically take the centerpieces unless you mention not to. The dj making an announcement works best for this. Other people in other social circles would never think of taking them. There is no one size fits all situation.
