Sweetheart-yay or Nay

What are your thoughts on a sweetheart table? Yay or nay and why? At 1st I didn’t like the idea but now am thinking about it so we don’t have to choose who to sit with. His family vs mine, my mom Vs. my dad, friends vs family.

We’re going to have a sweetheart table for sure! Then seat the rest of the wedding party at tables close by.

We wanted to do a traditional head table, but our bridal party is too big to fit in the “head table” area of our venue. We still wanted to be near to our wedding party though, especially for speeches, so we are doing two round tables for them and a sweetheart table between them for us. I think it will be nice to have a little bit of “alone” time but it will also keep us near to our wedding party.

Originally, I also felt they were silly. Now we are doing one. I like the idea of the kings tables, but when I counted up how many people would be at it (4 BMs, 4 GM, all of their dates, the FG and RB who are children of a BM and a GM, both sets of parents) it just became overwhelming and no one would be able to talk to each other anyway. I don't like head tables because I don't like separating couples, especially because a few of the dates will really only know their partner and maybe 1 or 2 other people. The easiest solution was to take us out of the equation and scatter everyone amongst the regular round tables. Plus, I imagine we won't be sitting at the table very often and probably for no more than 5 minute bursts at a time lol.

Team sweetheart table all the way! I would rather have the bridal party be comfortable and seat with their SOs.

I didn't like them at first but the more I plan, the more I like them. We are not having one, and opting for a head table instead (venue can fit 2 more tables with a head table rather than sweetheart) but if space wasn't an issue, we'd go with sweetheart.

We are not doing a sweetheart table. We are having an entire wedding party table. I understand the idea of it but for us we wanted to sit with our wedding party.
