Sweetheart table or not?

Kaitlyn, on August 17, 2019 at 4:37 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 20
Hello! Has everyone had a sweetheart table just for hubby & wife? Or has anyone just sat with their family at a regular table? Looking for opinions & if anyone else has done without a sweetheart table! Thanks ladies!

We did a bridal party table, but honestly we only sat for maybe 15 minutes throughout the whole evening haha.

I have seen some do a sweetheart, it seems to be very popular right now, and some do have the family style tables as well. It's really up to you all.

Team sweetheart table 100000%. You can have dinner with your family any time, enjoy your first dinner as newlyweds in semi-privacy.

We're doing a table with our bridal party (which is just MOH, best man, and an usher) and our parents. This table setup works best for our venue space, otherwise I would do a sweetheart table.

We are heavily considering a sweetheart table for the two of us. Our guest list is only 50 people so it would be awkward to have 25% of the wedding guests at a “head table.”
I’ve been to a few weddings where my FH was in the wedding and I was seated with a bunch a strangers. I hated being in that situation so I’d rather not put anyone in that position.

We had a sweetheart table and I wouldn't have had it any other way. It was nice to have some private time with hubs

We are doing a sweetheart table, also because our reception area is on the smaller side and our venue only provides rounded tables which aren’t large enough to seat the whole wedding party!

Another vote for sweetheart table! We did this and really enjoyed eating our first dinner together as husband and wife just the two of us. We socialized with everyone during cocktail hour and again after dinner during dancing, so this was the only time we had all day just to ourselves and it was really nice.

We had a sweetheart and it was an excellent decision. It allowed us to have a few moments to eat and breathe and take it all in!

At first I didn't think I wanted a sweetheart table, but after reading all of these I'm reconsidering. Having a table for the bridal party might not work, and I like the idea of just the two of us eating together.

Me too!!! So glad i posted this. I was really leaning toward no sweetheart table but the privacy and having dinner together does sound really good.

We hosted fifty people and we sat with our guests - there was no room for a sweetheart table, lol. We had two long tables of 25 each. We are going to a wedding this September where I know the couple will have a sweetheart table as the brides's parents are divorced and remarried and no one likes each other, lol, so this avoids the bride having to choose between anyone!

We are planning on doing a sweetheart table. Most of our bridal party have kids and spouses so we decided it would be best to seat everyone with their familes. Our kids will be with family also.
