Sweetheart table - 8ft too long?

FutureMrs.DAO, on April 27, 2017 at 9:36 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 20

My FH are doing a sweetheart table and Im trying to determine the most appropriate size. The table will be rectangle and i was thinking it would be nice to be flush with our backdrop which is 8x8ft. I dont want anything too small since we will also have a small cake placed on it in addition to candelabras, and obvi the two of us. But then I dont know if thats too big and it will look silly. Thoughts?

An eight foot table will seat four guests along one side.

I would say yes it is too long, and I'm not normally a queen that complains about size!!!

8' is too long. 6' might be better or try a smaller round table.

It sounds too big even with the cake and candelabras.

We are struggling with this too. Our venue only has 8ft tables. I think I'm going to end up borrowing a small round one or maybe a square card table for this purpose. I would feel awkward with just the two of us at a big ol' table

I don't see the big deal with the 8 ft table...I'm using whatever the venue has available

I don't. Me and my fiance used an 8 foot and I'm glad we did. My dress wasn't getting stepped on and we weren't shoulder to shoulder.

I always understood that a sweetheart table was small and round.

Sounds big but with the cake and other things it may be nice. You are sitting close to each other anyways so it won't like you are far apart from each other. It may work.

We are doing a smaller table and putting the cakes other places. 6 ft would be better

We're using a half round table and a separate table for the cake. I like the intimate feeling of a small table. It seems almost like it may be like a big barrier between you and your guests.
