SWEAT the small stuff

Brooke , on June 3, 2011 at 1:09 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 9

Ok i didn't even think about this until today. I am a big sweater I sweat mostly on my face (forehead) and down my back. I had to pick a June wedding date because of certain circumstances and we are having our wedding outside at the lake.

The weather here has been very odd. It is 70's one day and 50's the next. Normally this time of year we are in the 70's steadily but not so right now.

So I am not sure what weather we will have. Do any of you have advice on what I can do about the excessive sweat? I asked my doctor a long time ago if i could have something for my really bad sweating problem and his response was "No, there is nothing for it." It is so embarrassing as I sweat anywhere. I am so self conscious. Can anyone help me? Have others had this problem?

Google search "help for people who sweat a lot" and you will get tons of links with help and advice and learn what other people a. I found one site http://www.medicinenet.com/hyperhidrosis/article.htm

It immediately starts off with "Hyperhidrosis, or excessive sweating, is a common disorder......."

Scroll down and it also says -

The approach to treating hyperhidrosis generally proceeds as follows:

Over-the-counter antiperspirants: Antiperspirants containing aluminum chloride (for example, Certain-Dri) may be more effective when other antiperspirants have failed. So-called "natural" antiperspirants are often not very helpful.

Prescription-strength (prescribed by your doctor) antiperspirants: those containing aluminum chloride hexahydrate

Iontophoresis: a device which passes direct electricity through the skin using tap water

Oral medications: from the group of medications known as anticholinergics, which reduce sweating

I swear by Certain Dri. You apply it at bedtime, then wash it off the next morning. By that time, it has shut down your pores enough so that it lasts all day. However, because the deodorant itself has been washed off, you have no chance of it staining your dress.

As a Makeup Artist for your face I can suggest using a Anti-Perspiration Sweat Control Liquid that can be used underneath your makeup. I usually apply it to the areas where the Brides tend to get shiny/sweat the most on her face. To keep her dry. This product is usually used on performers so it's pretty heavy duty stuff. And I would suggest your makeup be waterproof Airbrush Makeup so that your pores can vent freely. You can also apply the sweat control Liquid on back. Hope this helpsSmiley smile Congrats on your engagement

Buy some oil absorbing sheets and have your MOH hold them at all times... They are great for getting the shine off and don't remove your makeup.

For extreme cases you can also get botox injected into the problem areas (including the forehead I believe). No idea on the cost of that though.

My underarms sweat like a beotch and it's very embarrassing. I use this stuff and it works very well. It says you can use it on your face, so I think it would be fine to use on your back as well.

Botox is incredibly effective and a lot of people use injections for that- particularly for big events. Your dermatologist should be able to give you more info. Good luck!
