Sweat and Satin! HELP

Mattie, on June 1, 2015 at 7:38 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 1

I am looking to buy a strapless fit and flare (mermaid) gown that is tight fitting satin from the top to the thighs! It fits great and looks elegant - which I love!

BUT, I am terrified about sweating through the satin!

Because it is form fitting, do you think it will show sweat stains in the armpits, belly, or butt? I am lean and not a big "sweater," but I hear EVERYONE sweats on the big day.

Any personal experiences to share?

Just want to be sure before I buy it!

"Satin" is usually NOT "satin." REAL "satin" is a product made of silk-which makes it light and airy. Today, dresses advertised as "satin" are usually "satin polyester," and polyester tends to be hot because it doesn't breathe. Check your dress, and I think you'll find both the dress and lining (if any) are both polyester.

I think the chances of showing signs of sweating are 50/50...depending on your own chemistry and the heat of the day.
