Survey for guest?

Lulu, on June 22, 2020 at 7:05 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 5
Our wedding was post poned from 3/2020 to 9/2020 (praying it pulls through this time) Should I send out a survey to my guest to have an idea how many would be willing to come-based on pandemic...is survey tacky? Open to ideas Smiley smile

i mean that's kind of a good idea to get a gage of how many but i don't think i'd do it in the form of a survey. just ask around!

I'm having this thought too! What kind of questions are you thinking of asking? I'm having a hard time because I want to ask like what kind of measures they would like to see in place, but also don't want anyone to be disappointed or feel unsafe if I don't put something in place (for example, temp checks at door) FYI my wedding is in September in NYC.

I think that's a great idea...we didn't send surveys but we did call all our guests to see how many would actually feel comfortable even coming out in September. Got a pretty good response rate, pretty much everyone said they'd still come but we're going to push it back 6 months anyway. We don't want to wear masks at our wedding smh and we don't want to cut the guest list down.

We did! With no reminders, got about 1/3 of our guests to respond, which is honestly more than I anticipated. It helped inform our decision - many of our VIPs were not comfortable with a larger wedding of 100 guests, so we're reducing the guest list to 60 and eliminating passed hors d'eouvres.

I definitely think there's a way you can gauge how your guests are feeling!

If you do reach out to all of your guests though, just be prepared to be receptive to their feedback! You could also reach out individually to some of your closest friends and family member to get an informal feel of things.

Here's another discussion I've seen about asking guests for their opinion:

Anyone asking family/wedding guests for their opinion on postponement?
