Surprise Mother-Son Dance

Mrs0, on August 8, 2013 at 4:41 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 3

I wanted to do a surprise dance with my FH halfway through our wedding song, but my FH really likes our first dance song, so we aren't doing a surprise dance. Instead, I planned a surprise dance later on with my bridesmaids a few songs into the open dance floor.

My FMIL called my FH yesterday and said that she wants to do a surprise dance halfway through their mother-son dance and he said okay. This would happen before my surprise dance, and I can't help feeling like it would steal the thunder away from the surprise bridesmaid dance and be too many surprise dances.

Is it wrong for me to feel this way? I don't want to be a bridezilla...

I say it is your wedding and to ask her FMIL if she could just dance later to the surprise song after you have yours so your bridesmaid dance is first and attracts everyone to it.

It's your wedding so you call the shots! If FH is okay with telling his mom no and it's not an issue the, stick with the one with your bridesmaids only.

As a guest, seeing 2 surprise dances would be a bit much. First time, cute. Second time, why?!?
