Surprise Mom Dance

Happilee, on May 26, 2019 at 2:26 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 4
Hey everyone!

I really want to have a surprise dance for my Mom. I know she would just freak (in a good way). It would be Mom by Meghan Trainor and I'd have the DJ fade it out after two or so minutes so it's not too long. If you know the song it would be right before Meghan's phone call to her Mom.

The plan is to pretend we're calling up Dad by saying something like "And now the bride would like to call a very important person to the dance floor- her Mom!" and then cue the music. It's really poppy and fun and I would have my brother and sister join us.

Do you think the guests would enjoy this or is it too much? 1-2 minutes of surprise fun seems reasonable to me.

I say go for it. I’ve seen a few different brides surprise their mom with a dance. I think she’ll be surprised and excited.

I plan on doing the exact same thing! I am really close with my mom and wanted to find a way to include her. I look forward to seeing my friends/families reactions!

That's very sweet for you to surprise your mom! I don't think that's weird at all for you to have a surprise dance for her Smiley smile

I think this is a really cute way to include your mom! Especially if she loves surprises!!

I think your guests will really enjoy it also. Two minutes sounds great!
