Supply our own plates/silverware?

Our catering will be BBQ buffet and the food is delicious and we are so excited for it. When we did our tasting with them they let us use their black plastic plates and black plastic silverware that they would provide for our dinner. The way they had it played was with a gold charger plate underneath and it looked really nice. However, we can’t afford to rent/buy chargers and are wondering if we should just use the black plates /silverware they provide and put a white/gold/silver doily underneath ($15-30) to make it pop a little or just buy a separate set of white plastic plates with silver trim and plastic silverware ($60-75) or just buy the chargers ($80-100).
