Figure out your budget and guest list first! Then find your venue. Don’t do anything else until you have the venue booked. It’s easier to change things to fit your venue, but a lot harder to change your venue to fit everything else.

This makes a lot of sense. Thank you!
I was kinda thinking of waiting a while on that but I guess that's not the answer lol. Well I guess I'll get one that then 😊

    Well first, congratulations!

Budget & guest list go hand in hand so these are the first things you need to at least get an estimate for. Depending on what you can afford will affect how many people you invite as well as the venue you choose. Wedding Wire has a checklist that you can look at to see what needs to be done leading all the way up to the big day. It seems you have a few years, but the earlier you begin to do your research, the better off you'll be.

As previous comments have mentioned, start with budget and estimated guest list, and then look for venues. Once you have those, look for vendors (photographer, DJ, etc.). Start with the biggest details first and work your way down to the smaller details. I recommend using a checklist - there is one here on Wedding Wire, and there is also a checklist on The Knot. Congratulations on your engagement! Happy wedding planning!

You first need to make a budget with your furure spouse. Next, book a venue. There's a checklist on weddingwire that you can utilize.

Start by setting a budget you and your fiance are comfortable with. Next, come up with a rough guest count estimate. Then start researching venues and scheduling tours (maybe a little difficult right now with Covid, but you can at least reach out to them and get information). Once you decide on and book your venue, you officially have your wedding date and can move on to other vendors.

We booked our photographer second because photos were very important to us and photographers tend to book up quickly. Also, caterers!
