Super Cheap Venue in Tampa?

Ha ha ha. No. There are not 200 people who love her enough to come to a wedding that serves 9 bucks worth of food with no bar. Problem solved.

You can't even order box lunches from a corporate caterer for $9 a head better yet find a venue to SERVE you food for that price.

Maybe a public park pavilion with hot dogs and burgers and chips someone cooks up from Costco?

I actually think people will come no matter what, she is one of the sweetest girls ever. If anyone actually has some advice, please comment! I know this will be difficult but she's got a very big family and the budget is the budget. It's not how I would do it, but it's everyone's choice to do what they want. She is not looking for something fancy at all, just a simple space that will hold that many people. Even just a venue that they could bring their own food would work, I guess for just the venue maybe a $500 rental fee?

I dont live in tampa but i still dont think in any way she will find a place to feed for like 9 dollars a plate, maybe she can have the wedding with everyone and then only invite a smaller few like immediate family and closest friends for the reception? the more ppl you have the more expensive it will be

What date does she have in mind? Will the weather cooperate for an outdoor ceremony/reception on the beach or at a park?

The ceremony would be at a place of worship, so she only needs a place for the reception. I think she can even go up to $1,000 for a rental fee if it were to include table/chairs.

The best 'advice" (besides change the vision....) is to have punch and cookies after the ceremony, at the church. With maybe a cake. Even with that, she'll need some staff to help or it'll be a fracas.

I never said anyone was being mean. I know this will be extremely hard if even possible and I already suggested a cake and punch reception.

Anyway does anyone know a venue that would be $1000 or under? If you do not know of any that is fine, I just wanted to see if anyone knew of any off hand.

If she'd want to come to Sarasota, there is a venue that is just a bit over $1,000 and it includes tables, chairs, and a kitchen for caterer's use. She can bring in her own alcohol & caterer (or pre-cooked food).

Limit of 136 people (which is probably realistic based on 200 guests invited).

Wow that's really hard. Okay ummm you're gonna want to focus on places that don't need extra decorations because they're really nice. The Sunken Gardens in St. Pete is a good place to look at. Though they might be a wee expensive. It'll be $1000 on a weekday for that many people. Also the Palma Sola Botanical Gardens in North Bradington could be an option. The Botanical Gardens at USF are really nice too. The grounds are really cheap to rent (I think $300 for 4 hours), but you have to pay like $30 a chair and $100 a table through them in order to use their grounds. Honey Moon Island is a good option if you're willing to set up everything by yourself. Eagle Lake Park in Largo Florida is very pretty in the spring and only needs a $500 wedding permit to set up. You can use the tables as seeting and tables.

Non-traditional wedding dresses and casual men's wear are a must-have.

You should also look into using supermarket flowers as bouquets. There's a how to somewhere on the internet that makes them look gorgeous.

Maybe try a mid afternoon wedding and serve snacks instead of a meal. Like a 1 o'clock wedding. That way people won't expect a meal and they'll have eaten lunch so they won't be too hungry.
