Sunday Weddings!

Hi brides! My first post here ah! But my FI and I are having a Sunday wedding next September. The venue we fell in love with was booked every Saturday for 2018 and I couldn't wait over 2 years for a Saturday. Anyone else having a Sunday wedding?! What have the reactions been from friends/family?

I'm having a Sunday wedding and I haven't had any complaints or negative feedback from vip's and family. My ceremony starts at 4:00 and everything will end by 9:30. I'm not expecting people to stay late. Most of my locals will have work the next day.

Keep in mind that almost every Jewish couple has a Sunday wedding. They aren't rare.

What @A.L. said about Jewish weddings on Sundays.

IMO, I'd rather skip out early/take the day off to go to a Friday wedding and have the weekend to deal with a hangover rather than attend a Sunday wedding and start the workweek feeling sluggish.

I've attended two Sunday weddings in recent memory: one was a traditional Jewish shindig on the other side of the country in a big, beachy city I had never visited, so I made a vacation of it. The other was in a town about two hours away that's sort of the edge of the suburbs of the metro area where we all lived and sort of its own city. Beautiful ceremony in the mountains overlooking the river, though the couple seemed somewhat upset that a lot of the guests (our friend group included) started to leave around 8:30 to head back to work.

If you're going the Sunday route, I'd recommend having an event in the mid-afternoon. It'll have a different vibe from an evening ballroom affair, though it will be wonderful nonetheless. Smiley smile Maybe a brunch wedding would work?

We're doing Sunday as well, because it was cheaper Smiley smile we're starting at 3 with a ceremony at 4, so all of the "main events" like dinner, cake cutting etc. should be done by about 9-9:30. Most of our guests are locals, so we haven't heard about it being a problem for anyone.

We are having a Sunday wedding ending at 11pm. Family and friends are fine with it and will be taking off of work on Monday. I haven't had any complaints and Sunday was a lot cheaper!

Another Sunday wedding here. Our ceremony is 1:30 and then our reception is 2-7(or later because our venue is super flexible) My mom was a little annoyed about it at first but she's come around. His side is used to Sunday weddings (Jewish) and nobody else has complained.

Were having a Sunday wedding. It works for us because 90% of our guests are OOT. And our day happens to fall on labor day weekend. So for us its everyone comes in Friday or Saturday and they don't have to rush. I think it works well, i just wouldn't have one that last untol 11pm or midnight

My friend had a Sunday evening wedding. It was beautiful but the ceremony didn't start until 730. Many people left by 9 because of work the next day. My advice would be to have it earlier in the day if you want people to stay throughout the entirety of the reception.

We are very close to securing a date, and I think we are doing a Sunday of Columbus day weekend 2018. It's a super popular date, and I'm amazed our venues have it. This will give us some flexibility in cost, and when we have the ceremony, etc. Since most of our guests are OOT, this will also allow them some flexibility, or more time off when they travel!

My wedding is on a Sunday and a holiday weekend. The holiday weekend is supposedly advised as an no-no but for me no one has had issues. If they do, I haven't heard.

We are having a Sunday wedding. We originally had our date set for Sat Oct 28th but I was having major venue regret. We went with another venue and Saturday was taken so we just went with Sunday the 29th. I feel weird having a Sunday wedding but it's still the weekend
