I don't know if there are people on here who are already married..if not I'm looking for general opinions on Sunday Weddings. I want to have a normal decent length evening time party as I'm planning on Halloween (for religious/cultural reasons). But I know people work Mondays usually and I'm afraid people will leave early or be upset for needing to call off on a Monday.

Was planning Halloween 2020 but SO is worried it might too short notice planning wise. And we have a few friends who are pregnant who we want to invite but will be due around that time and we don't want them to be tortment a newborn at a wedding

What's people's experience with hosting or attending Sunday (evening) weddings ?

I got married on a Sunday. Our wedding was from 3:30-9:00. A lot of people did leave a bit early, but because it was all over by 9:00, it really wasn't bad. My husband and I are both boring lazy people who didn't want to have an all night party, so Sunday was the perfect choice!

One issue I haven’t read about is that it’s Halloween and if you are inviting family and friends who have children, there is a good chance they will decline. Trick or treating isn’t what it was when I was growing up but kids look forward to it and I doubt there’s a parent out there that will say , ‘Sorry kids, not this year, we’re going to a wedding,’ to their kids.

I had a very successful Sunday evening wedding this March. The ceremony was at 6pm and the reception immediately followed inside. I didn't quite consider timing until later but I was open in communicating with those I really wanted to have there. Letting them know where it would be held at, what time it would start at and that it would be a child free event and all of my guests were there on time, my ceremony started at 6 on the dot and majority of my guests left around 11pm. My recommendation skip as much as you can and spend the time celebrating with your guests. I really sped through things to try and get to the dancing and whatnot.

I was just at a Sunday wedding and we had a blast!! Most people stayed the entire time and it ended at 11. Most people took Monday off work though so that might be a factor. I definitely prefer Sunday weddings to Friday weddings... by a lot lol
