Who else is having a Sunday wedding? Are you doing a brunch reception, or regular evening reception with dinner, drinks, and dancing? My wedding is October 18th 2020, and I’m a bit nervous it being on a Sunday, but the venue we wanted had all Saturday’s booked for 2020 and we want to get married...

My wedding is October 18th 2020, and I’m a bit nervous it being on a Sunday, but the venue we wanted had all Saturday’s booked for 2020 and we want to get married this year. Plus it’s an all inclusive venue it includes all the vendors, cake and open bar! The Sunday price you just can’t beat!

I'm having a Sunday wedding as well, May 31. I've always known I would have a Sunday wedding because I grew up in a religion that worships and rests on Saturdays, so my mom would never be ok with all the work a wedding requires going down on that day. We are having our ceremony at 3:00 and our reception will follow in the same venue. We are having heavy hors d'oeuvres and desserts, lawn games, and your typical cake cutting, toasts, etc. We expect everything to be wrapped up by 8:00 at the latest, giving our guests who need to work the next day time to get home and in bed by a decent hour. We're planning to have a small after-party with our closest friends at our house afterward with drinks to make up for the fact that our wedding will be less dinner/dancing/partying and more like a family garden party.

I wouldn't worry too much about your evening Sunday wedding though. I think those nearest and dearest to you will stay for all the festivities--you may lose a few guests early on in the evening due to work the next day, but that seems to be the case with any wedding honestly. Not everyone wants to stay until the end and they'll leave no matter when you plan it. Enjoy it!

It will work just fine. I am doing the same thing. We scheduled pictures before hand. That way we can get married, eat and then party. Best wishes.

We're doing a Sunday! We're starting at 3 and wrapping things up by 8.

    It'll look like:

    3: ceremony

3:30 - 4:30 - Sip and Stroll (not really a cocktail hour — only serving a sangria, beer, tea and water)

    5 - dinner

    Celebrating until 8!
