Sunday Wedding ?

Sam_I_Am, on January 27, 2017 at 1:44 PM

The venue we really want only has Sunday (10th) available . I've never been or even heard of couples getting married on a Sunday . So I'm not similar with the etiquette rules. What is a good time frame for a Sunday wedding ? Could a Sunday wedding work with all guest having to travel ?

I have been to a number of Sunday weddings. It's typically a more budget friendly option, but some people may not go because taking Monday off may not work.

My boss recently got married on a Monday, all it really tells your guests is that you are trying to keep costs down. Nothing else is different about the day.

Do it, and as long as you send out save the dates in enough time you should be fine. Guests just need time to plan, but overall a long Sunday wedding is approved!

My Sunday wedding will begin at 3:30 and wrap up around 9:30. Those were my venue's specifications, but they work for us!

I'm having a Sunday wedding. 1:30 ceremony and then 2-7 reception. We are doing an after party at brewery next to hotel we're staying at but really only expect close family and local friends who have already expressed interest to go to that. We decided on a Sunday wedding because his family is Jewish and our venue has strict set times for Saturday weddings that would make it difficult for them to attend but none at all for Sundays. We also both love Sunday afternoons. It just fit who we are as a couple and we wanted a Sunday afternoon wedding linner (late lunch/early dinner)

My FSIL had her wedding on a Sunday. It was at 12 and we didn't get home until 8 pm. It was definitely hard to go to work the next day bc of course we drank and at the time my work schedule was 6am-2:30pm. Talk about a rough day. For them though- it was cheaper

We are having our wedding on a Sunday 3-10 pm. The majority of our guests are traveling. No one ever said a compliant about it being on a Sunday. Friends and family are happy to travel to be here.

Our ceremony will start at 4. Reception ending at 10. And no one is traveling further than 30 miles. Just sent out invites and almost everyone has RSVPd. Smiley smile

I have been to a few Sunday weddings. A few have been on holiday weekends, a few have not. I assume you're looking at the month of June? Are you thinking about an evening wedding? I think generally, Sunday weddings don't have the same party feel as a Friday or Saturday night wedding. Some guests (like DH and I!) would take Monday off and make a long weekend of it, and stay til the end, drinking and dancing! However, more guests might leave before the reception ends in order to get home at a decent hour since its a work night. It may also cause guests to decline if they aren't able to get Mondays off (some work places that's a very hard day to get off). I would float the idea around to your bridal party and other VIPs to see if that scenario would work for them.

We are having a Sunday wedding but it's the night before Labor Day so many will not have work the next day. Choosing Sunday saved us from having food and beverage minimums we just order enough for our small guest list.

We're doing a Sunday wedding! We're starting at 11:30 and than ending at 5. That way people can come for the day. Just be sure to check the contract or ask venue about liquor times. For example, we were thinking about starting at 1030 but in the state of MA they couldn't serve liquor until after 12, we decided to start at 11:30 so at cocktail hour they could have drinks.

We are having a Sunday morning brunch wedding at 11:00 am. My fiancé's sister had one as well, and it was beautiful. The morning does give it a more casual feel but it is still quite nice.

We are having a Sunday wedding that will start at 4pm. It was less expensive on a Sunday and FH said it feels more like a wedding day. We booked the venue until 10pm.

We're getting married on a Sunday. Ceremony at 3:30, cocktail hour at 4, dinner at 5:15, dessert and speeches at 6:30, and dancing from 7-10. For anyone that wants to join us, we'll be at a bar near the hotel after that until close.

ETA : saved a ton of money doing it on a Sunday.

In my culture most people have theirs on a sunday. Our ceremony is at 4 and reception starts at 6.
