Sunday Wedding Vs Saturday Wedding

I'm considering an all inclusive caterer and have to choose between a Sunday at ~$10K for 100 guests at a beautiful mansion venue or a Saturday at the same place for an additional $3000. I'm so close to selecting a wedding venue! I'm considering an all inclusive caterer and have to choose between a Sunday at ~$10K for 100 guests at a beautiful mansion venue or a Saturday at the same place for an additional $3000. My budget is $15,000 and I got my dress for free!

There is also the option of another venue with this caterer but it's appeal is from the inside--it doesn't have the outdoor appeal that we would both love but it would be nice inside the tent. Plus we could get a Saturday date for ~$10K for 100 guests.

My fiance is having a hard time wrapping his mind around the Sunday option because his friends may not be able to take a day off on Monday if we have an evening wedding and he doesn't think that a Sunday day party will be as fun. I'd really like to save $3K but I admit, that the appeal of a Saturday reception is pretty tempting.

Which option would you pick?

    My wedding is on a Sunday I'm doing a Sunday brunch and from when I talk to ppl they love the idea, I never heard of it myself until I visited the venue and she told me that was a way to cut cost becuz on a Saturday the minimum was $10k and that was just looking at about 60 ppl. I'm up to about 100 and cost was cheaper

    I'm having a non-holiday weekend Sunday evening wedding. People coming in from out of town have to take Friday off for a Saturday wedding, so those same people would be able to take the Monday off for a Sunday wedding. It's honestly the same either way. I'm obviously a little biased, but I say save the money and have your wedding on a Sunday.

    We just had our Sunday wedding and LOVED it! It definitely ended earlier than a Saturday wedding, but we still had everything a normal evening wedding does. Ceremony 3pm, Cocktail Hour 4pm, Dinner 5pm, Cake & Toasts 6pm, Glow Stick Send Off 8pm. DH and I were home by 9pm which was perfect because we got to rest a little before our flight the next morning. We saved thousands and it was so worth it!

    Did you see if Friday was available? Friday weddings are just as inexpensive as Sundays and yay--it's still the weekend!

    I could have saved a whole bunch of money by doing a Sunday

    I chose not to why? Because I always wanted a Saturday wedding, it's one night of my life. I never had a sweet sixteen or any huge party so I going all out! It's your day! Sometimes you gotta spend a little more but hey you got a free wedding dress!

    Thanks so much everyone! Since yesterday they came down to $12K for the Saturday date. I asked if they could lower the cost further if I chose to party from 11:30am to 4 pm at the garden venue. If I can get them below $12K I may be able to make it work! I will send an update soon

    Ok, for a Saturday wedding during the day (1130am-4pm) they quoted $11K for 100 people. With tax that is $11,706. Is that good y'all? It's at a mansion 30 minutes from BWI airport

    Personally, I say go with Saturday! Mine was on a Saturday and we partied late into the night which was a blast and nice so no one had to worry about getting up early.

    Sunday will save you money. Saturday will be easier. Is it a holiday weekend? If not , I don't see anything wrong with Sunday. If your guests know in Advance or if you have it early enough that should be plenty of time for them to get rest for work or take off Monday.

    When are you thinking? If it's a holiday weekend a Sunday would be good, I would vote Saturday if it's not a holiday weekend. I know my fh has such limited time off that he would be like your fhs friends and wouldn't be able to take the day off on Monday. I know the entire night all he would be thinking about is working the next morning and he wouldn't enjoy himself nearly as much

    I negotiated the more expensive place and got it for Saturday night for one extra $1K

    We're happy with this but I am being strategic about my guest list now. I'm looking forward to it!

    If you were doing an afternoon wedding anyways, I think the Sunday would've worked out fine, but I'm glad you ended up getting the day and venue you wanted!

    I would go for the Saturday date at the cheaper location. Although I'm a little worried that at 10,000 you will still be over budget once you include photographer, dj, etc.

    ETA just saw your update. That's good they dropped the price!

    Sunday weddings definitely change the atmosphere. If you want a party atmosphere, I'd go for Saturday. If you are okay with people leaving early, not drinking as much, etc then save your money & do Sunday

    I did a Sunday wedding & it was perfect for us. Our guests wouldn't have stayed late, drank a lot, etc even if it had been on a Saturday.
