Summer Wedding Dessert Table

Ashley, on February 18, 2020 at 12:02 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 9

I am looking for some ideas for our dessert table, more specifically keeping our cake balls from getting to hot and the coating just melting off of them. Our reception is outside, but we will be covered, so no sun, just that August heat and Nebraska humidity. I have seen where you take just a plain storage container with ice and just cover it in fabric to hide it and put tray's or bowls on the ice. The idea can work, but I was just curious if anybody had other ideas. The cake balls will be frozen before they are sat out and our other desserts are cupcakes, donuts and sugar cookies. Thanks!

Is there an option where you can have someone bring it out later also? Instead of them sitting there for a while

Yes...we will initially have it setup looking cute, but just not bring a ton of items out until we are ready to eat them and there will be people to refill as needed. Which will be fine and we can make that work, but just was looking for fresh ideas. Thank you!

    You mean something like this?

If you use metal serveware, if it's an option, you could also put this in the freezer before having it set out on the table.

I'm not sure how much assistance you have, but if you have someone who is able to refresh the table, you could leave some of the cakeballs in a freezer/cooler and refresh as stock starts to get low.

Yes, they will be kept in a freezer and then hopefully in a cooler while at the reception. I think I am overthinking this too much...LOL! It actually is my mom more than me. Thanks for that idea and link. If we really get nervous, we may end up using something like that.

They have cold trays like a hot plate but opposite. They keep the items on them cold so they shouldn’t melt. They have electric ones and ones with an ice compartment underneath. That have them on amazon if you want to look into something like that.

Why dont you do a Candy table
With the colors of your Wedding and Reception. Or you could do a chocolate Fountain with different Fruit. And finger foods that would go like sponge cake. Marshmallow. Chips. And so on
