Summer sunset mismatched bridesmaids colors

Dena, on October 11, 2022 at 4:28 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 6

I'm getting married July 2023 and was thinking desert sunset/warm colors for my 6 bridesmaids with a few different colors. My fiance wants to do a dark wine red (and doesn't want a girl in the same color) but I probably need to decide mine before he orders his. The groomsmen would be in khaki so more simple.

These are 2 of my inspiration pics as I think they are still summery as the palate does lean towards fall:

I like the idea of using Azazie because they do have a lot of colors, are fairly affordable and do the at home try on. In terms of their options, my top colors are sunset, paprika, rust, terracotta, butterscotch and marigold but I am worried all 6 might be too much and thinking I should do 3 colors with pairs.
Any thoughts on which 3 would look best together? Online looks way different than my swatches...see below all 6 and then a few other combinations of 3.
Alternatively, anyone have luck with Kennedy Blue? I also like the idea of satin/midi but not finding much in this color scheme.
TYSM!

Just my opinion but the yellows seem to out of place with the other darker colors. However I'm also not a huge fan of the mix and match of different colors as I think it looks too distracting/disorganized. I would only go with two or three different colors since you want to do the mix and match though.

I agree with Veronica that the yellows look out of place compared to the other colors. The mix and match is really hard to get just right/Pinterest-perfect. I almost had my 5 bridesmaids in our 3 wedding colors (slate/dusty blue, navy, and sage) but ended up deciding against it as all together was looking too busy. Instead I went with this idea to have BMs all in one color but the MOH in a second color from our palette to stand out. It ended up being a win-win for me and my MOH (who is also my sister): the main color I wanted was slate/dusty blue, but my sister got to wear a darker color that she was more comfortable in - navy.

I think the first pic, bottom row three look best together but I actually happen to love the yellow! The more mustard darker color on the far right would be a great swap for the color below it [first pic]. I'm doing 3 different colors for 6 bridesmaids and I think it's a fantastic idea and it'll be gorgeous no matter what colors you choose!

Azazie's colors online definitely look WAY different in person. My bridesmaids originally liked a dress from Kennedy Blue, but they were all way too small, and by the time they realized they couldn't be taken in, the window to return them closed. They ended up picking a new dress from Azazie that fit better and had a way shorter shipping time. I also like the ability to do a home try-on and custom order too.

My suggestion would be to have your bridesmaids either all in the same color or in different shades of one color (say orange), then you could do your florals in another sunset color (like red or pink), then do gold accessories, accents, etc.

Good to know re: Kennedy Blue sizing, and will definitely think about using the florals to add more colors!
