suit disaster

HELP ME!!! My wedding is September 27th and I was planning on having the guys get there suits from Mens Warehouse. BUT I have no idea when/if they will open back up here in Michigan in time! I'm not totally comfortable with them ordering from BlackTux - Generation Tux - Groomsman Suit because they don't offer home try on first! My next plan was from them to all go to Kohls because I found a nice one there but now the guys are worried the "sizes" won't fit properly.

WHAT DO I DO!?!?!?!?!?!

My fiancé is going to jcpenny to get his and then taking it to a Tailor if needed. The fit can always be altered.

What about Macy’s and JC Penny. I think they both offer alterations and usually have good sales.

Any local suit/tux rental places? Our local place is better quality and they have their own local warehouse.

I'd love to shop local but we have groomsmen scattered across Michigan

I second checking out places like JCPenney or go with the Kohl’s one you like and just tell the guys to go to a tailor to get them fitted properly. Do you have really tall or big guys? If so, I can see why they’d think regular department stores might not have sizes big enough.

You can still do local. Go there pick out what you like. We were in the same situation with MW. So we went to a local shop. All the groomsmen have to do is go to a local tux shop or even Macy's will measure them. Send the groomsmen what measurements they need, then they can call the local place you are going with; with their measurements. All of the guys in our wedding party have found places that are willing to measure them for free. The other nice part was the local place we are going with is $50 cheaper than MW.

We bought FH’s suit from JCP and he needs minor tailoring. I saw some I liked at Kohls too, FH just prefers the one from JCP. The two JCP stores near us are closing, but their sales were terrible, only 25% off and everything was discounted much more online, just a heads up!

Our groomsmen are scattered across the country. Our local shop told us most suit/tux places do complementary measurements. Our guys just need to call in their measurements afterwards. Then the week of the wedding they have to go to the shop to pick up their tux and get their adjustments done.

    Good luck with your search.

I got married last week and my fiancé used the Black Tux and had a really good experience. They do offer the free home try on. We measured him at home uploaded the info. He loved the suit soo much he decided to buy it instead of sending it back because he said it was a good deal and he loved the suit. The suit came fast too because we decided like the month before to still get married even though we had to cancel the big wedding.

We did generation tux and they had at home try on, and send it to them the week of. Maybe it's different because of covid? We got married in February

Daughter and SIL worked with Black Tux and were incredibly happy/satisfied. The suits are delivered 10-14 days before the wedding, as long as the guy tries it on and contacts them within 48 hours of delivery, they guarantee they can/will send any replacements needed in plenty of time. I think 2 of the 6 GM had concerns about their suit when it was delivered (jacket a little tight, that kind of thing); they followed the 48 hr rule and had replacements in plenty of time. The quality and appearance of the suits was excellent -- in the photos of the wedding party, you can't see any difference between the GMs' Black Tux suits and SIL's custom-made suit. SIL has had to order through MW for a couple weddings he's been in and HATED everything about working with them. Bad service, bad fit, expensive.... I wouldn't discount one of the online retailers without gathering more info. Good luck!
