Suggestions for where to find petite dresses

Hi all, I’m looking for some suggestions about where might be a good place to find a wedding dress. I stand at a whopping 4’9” tall, so obviously standard sizes wouldn’t even come close to fitting properly. I know alterations are in my future no matter what, but it would be nice to try to find something that would at least be fairly close to fitting. Any suggestions (other than custom- we’re trying to keep a reasonable/low budget here) on where a short lady might start looking for that perfect dress?

I’m 5’2 and still have to have significant alterations lol I would say don’t stress the sizing and just find the dress then go from there

Hi Alyssa,
Congratulations, I know what you're feeling, I'm 5' 2", I found some petites at David's, and there's Dress afford online, I didn't like the dresses so I'm just paying the extra alteration charge, they did tell me that Mermaid, Trumpet and Fit and Flare are the best choices for us short girls!! My dress is from jjshouse, style 6979 if you care to see it! Good luck!

I’m 4’11”. I got a size 2 dress and had a lot of hemming done. They could have taken it in if needed but it fit pretty well to begin with.

When I was shopping I remember there were a few designers that offered a petite length. You might still need alterations but hopefully not as much that way.

I know the designer of my dress offered shortened length for en extra charge, but even with that it would be made to fit someone 5’5”. I just got the standard size and will have to get it altered.
