Suggestions for Place Card options other than at their seat?

Sasha, on September 24, 2019 at 7:42 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 6

Hi,

We're having our reception after our destination wedding this Saturday. There's 90 people coming, I don't know a lot of them and husband doesn't have time or desire to help me make a seating chart. I consulted with MIL and she said its best to let everyone sit where they want, and just have seating cards for the bridesmaids, groomsmen and immediate family tables.

The problem is, I already bought painted, and put names on these super cute little hexagon acrylic things. It took me a long time to make them and I spent like 150 bucks on them and I want to use them. They may not be the exact right number, since we have struggled getting an exact RSVP list. Does anyone have any suggestions of some inexpensive way I could still incorporate them?

Thanks!

Did you buy them for place cards or table numbers? I don’t quite understand.

I got them thinking I'd put them on top of each person's dinner plate at their seat. But now if I don't know where each person will sit, not sure what to do?

I would still use them as you intended. It will go faster than you think to sort everyone out especially once you take care of the wedding party and immediate family. Then just start grouping people together based on families/relationships. You'll need some way to let the guests know which table they're sitting at though, either a seating chart or escort card. Alternatively, you could use these as an escort card and just add a table number to them and then let guests decide what seat they'll sit at once they're at the table.

You can use that at each place setting as a thank you/menu card. Amazon inexpensive 50 for $15

Great ideas guys, thanks so much!

I didn't actually know the difference between place cards and escort cards, so I think I will figure out at least whose sitting at what table, and make a display of these little things because they are so cute!
