Suggestions for hiding/preventing bacne and scars ?

UnderTheJuneWillows, on June 18, 2016 at 10:31 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 13

I am wearing my hair half-up and half down, so some of my back will be covered. But, I may pull my hair up for the reception, as it is suppose to be in the low 90's that day. I have some scars on my back from acne. The spray tan helped with some of it, but I fear makeup will run or smudge onto my dress if I try to cover the rest.

Do you think my veil will be enough to hide it? Should I even care? Aside from what I am already doing (exfoliating and moisturizing with oil-free and fragrance free) is there more I should do to keep my shoulders and back clear?

I don't think you should even worry about it. You won't be thinking about it while having a blast at your wedding. If any pictures come in where spots bother you, your photographer can fix it no problem.

Have you gone for an acne massage? I did one about 2 years ago when I was in a bridal party. I did it about a week before the wedding. It cleared my back, shoulders, and upper arms up. I hope to be able to do the same thing for my wedding.

I highly doubt anyone will even notice it. I mean you are the bride they are going to think how amazing you look and that's the end of it. Don't over think it and just relax

Try vitamin E lotion, (it is in the vitamin aisle)it helps with scarring and sun screen, scars get darker as you tan.

Makeup will run or smudge onto your gown. Your veil will help. I get why you care but no one else will be looking at it like you are. While I understand TOTALLY what you are concerned about (I too have bad scarring on my back from acne and a burn), a consistent cleaning regiment beginning weeks prior to your wedding day is best. The day of the wedding, let your back go makeup free.

Thanks, Ladies. I will take your suggestions and try to stress less.

I have never heard of massage for acne. I will have to see if my skin scare/acne lady does that. Interesting.

I know it seems like an inconsequential thing to worry about in the big picture, but I think of that in the same way I worry about back cleavage and armpit muffin top; things I can't see but others can.

Your veil will be enough. KNow that no one else will know or care about this but you.

Were you a part of our Paula's Choice chat where girls wanted to try AHA body lotion to get rid of red bumps on their arms? For what you described, I highly suggest trying the BHA body lotion in the future. It will likely clear everything up. Just don't start a new skincare routine close to your wedding day.

@Ashley , @June Willows Read up on Resist body lotion - there is an AHA version and a BHA version. They are both fantastic!!! I have both.

I also love using BHA liquid only face. Its the BEST at fighting breakouts! You can also use AHA to fight wrinkles. Honestly... I never thought I could have nice skin until I started using an exfoliant!

The Skin Balancing toner is really good too!

The Paula's choice did nothing for me at all, sadness. For your back, get a scrubbie on a stick and be sure to rub (lightly) every shower, and wash your sheets often. 90% of it is probably oily sheets, according to my dermo. They look and feel clean to us, but they're not. Pillowcases are the worst offenders lol.
