Succulent wedding favours?

Leonormorrow, on November 17, 2019 at 8:41 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 15
Our wedding will be in a botanic garden, so I was thinking of having succulent wedding favours that would also have seating card tags on them.

I think this will go well with our theme and also be a fun way to display name tags; however, I also want guests to enjoy the favours and idk how many people will take them afterwards? What do you think? Would these be a popular wedding favour or will there be a ton left if I get one per guest? Is something edible like macarons better?

Unfortunately I’ve heard (and seen!) that a LOT of people won’t take favors home. I’d stick with something you wouldn’t mind having a lot left over. For example, we’re doing wedding cake shaped candles and matches - things we’ll for sure use at home.

I went to a wedding with succulents as the favors. I think they had a lot left behind. I am not a plant person so mine died within a few months 😕

I went to a shower where the favors were succulents and I didn’t take one. I really don’t need more countertop clutter lol and my cats would probably eat it. There seemed to be a lot left behind too.

I'd love that, personally. My parents would too aha but I do feel like it'd be left behind. Maybe you can get succulent shaped cookies or cupcakes? Aha

That’s true - I don’t think I would mind having like 5 left over to have around the house but like 15 wouldn’t be good haha

No care instructions were given. I don’t think it would have helped in my case 😔

What about the little fake ones you can buy at hobby lobby? With no maintenance somewhere on the label? We are doing an edible favor - candy apples haha and I dont mind if they're left behind Smiley smile

Probably not honestly, I just don’t need more clutter :/ sorry it’s a really cute idea especially with your botanical garden wedding, and idk maybe if you know your crowd and think they’d take one you can do it... I just don’t want you to waste your money!

I went to a wedding that did exactly this. I took my succulent home. It died a couple of weeks later and was thrown away. Save your money.

I would suggest doing air succulents instead. They don't need any water so they're easier for people to "take care" of.
