Stylist cut off too much one month before wedding

I went for a trim one month out for my wedding. I had been to this salon atleast 8 times before and they have always done what I asked. I asked for 2 inches off and pointed to where I wanted the hair to fall (still below my butt). I also mentioned my wedding was in a month and just wanted a trim. After the stylist sectioned off my hair and sat me down she confirmed with me verbally 2 inches right? When I finally stood up I saw she cut atleast half a foot off 😭 (above my tailbone) I told her that was much more than 2 inches and she said it’s “a little bit more but I got all your split ends” I was visibly upset and she didn’t seem to care. I’m so devastated and haven’t slept in a week.

Thankfully I can still do the hairstyle I wanted but I feel like I just won’t like how it looks now with the missing length, my long hair is part of my identity. And I worry that I’ll hate my wedding photos. I checked with my stylist for my wedding and she said she isn’t able to find extensions that long. I’m so upset with myself for even going to the salon.
Does anyone have experience with a pre wedding haircut gone wrong? How did you cope with not having what you wanted on your wedding day? Especially if you consider your long hair part of your identity.
