Stupid question - how to put on wedding dress

Ok so my mom and I were talking about this the other day after she helped me put on my dress when it came in. Ok so my mom and I were talking about this the other day after she helped me put on my dress when it came in. When the bridal consultants at the store help you, they somehow lift the giant dress up so you can dive in from below. Which works well assuming you are wearing everyday hair and make up and the bridal consultant knows what they're doing. When mom and I tried this it wasn't quite so graceful... So I guess my question is, how do you gracefully put on a 20 pound dress in full hair and make up? That sounds like a disaster waiting to happen.

    I stepped into mine.

    @ Tania - I needed help putting my shoes on too. I almost wiped out trying to put them on myself! LOL

    I always stepped into mine. @Randee my dress was a mermaid lol so obviously you can!
