Stupid Groomsmen Gifts

UofMichiganGirl, on June 30, 2015 at 5:23 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 33

Ahhhhh!!! Yes that's about my feeling right now. My girls were so simple to buy for. The guys are proving to not be so much. We were going to do customized bobble heads but we didn't get the required photos in time. Does anyone have any unique ideas? My FH doesn't want to give the typical gift (mug, cuff links, etc). THANKS!!!

Sorry- saw there's another post! But we do have 3 months so we can order stuff. Anything not on the other post would be helpful! Sorry for duplicating!!

A man card bottle opener! It's stupid, useful and cute.

I wanted FH to do engraved leatherman tools. He ended up ordering minimalist wallets off etsy (it's two cards and a band basically and FH swears by them). We're also going to get cups from our destination (it's a DW) and a mini liquor bottle and mini mixer.

Seriously. Gift. Cards. People don't need or want a whole lot of useless stuff laying around.

Though the bottle opener is kinda cool.

FH is getting his groomsmen hatchets. No reason other than he thinks they're hilarious. None of them are outdoorsy. I don't get it.

FH picked out flasks and shave bags. I literally went on etsy and google and read him off groomsmen gifts until he found ones he liked. I agree the girls were EASY, I just had to know when to stopSmiley smile

What about an etched bottle of whisky for each

I think Johnny walker does that.

I think I've gotten FH to decide on cigar boxes with each name engraved on the outside. It drives me crazy that he doesn't have a plan for them. I'm like ahhhhhh, 3 months...get it done!!

FH got his groomsmen those "Mancards" - it was how he asked them to be groomsmen (that and a smirnoff ice they had to chug to "accept" their groomsmen mission!) I love them, but tbh they don't work all that well as bottle openers.

@Kathryn I love that you got your guys swords! That is awesome. And I agree with @m's knife suggestion - FH got one as a groomsmen last year and he loves it.

I think we're gonna do fun socks and cufflinks for our guys... although FH is still kinda on the fence about it.

But, don't buy your knives off Etsy.

Get a GOOD knife, not a piece of metal stuck in some wood. FH got an etsy knife for FSIL's wedding, and it's literal shit, adn we can barely use it to cut a tomato.

Granted, we use our knives for things like cutting hay bales & skinning animals, but still, get a good one.

I love the idea of sports gear in their favorite team especially being our wedding is themed around Michigan football.

We got them monogram flasks and a bottle opener that screws into the wall, along with a big bottle of their favorite beer and some small shots. The guys really liked it.
