Stupid alert: when should the cake be delivered to reception venue?

    The bakery should know what time your wedding reception is and should deliver it at least an hour or two before. The venue will store it for you until the time is right. Sometimes the cake arrives damaged, so having it a little earlier, they can fix it (they always bring extra icing and other materials if they get a bump along the road). Discuss this with your baker. Make sure they have the correct address, cross streets and the name of your contact person in case of a problem.

    I, for one, am glad you asked. I'm meeting with the lady for our cake next week and wasn't sure how this was going to work either.

    We are thinking about having the cake delivered to the venue the night before and have it stored in the fridge.... thoughts?
