Stuff to throw

Liz, on May 14, 2019 at 1:58 AM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 13
What would be something cool to throw at the couple after the ceremony? I know rice has been used in the past. One wedding I attended had the guests throw petals and the other wedding we threw bird seed. I want something different

Sparklers and bubbles have become popular recently. I would also check with the venue, as some have strict rules on what can be thrown/if anything can be thrown.

We have bubbles. I would hate for someone to throw burd seed at me lol. I agree too. You should ask the venue if there's any restrictions to this.

I’ve seen dried lavender before! You can get it in bulk pretty cheap on Etsy. And it smells good. We are just doing little bells so that we don’t have anything to pick up afterwards

Sparklers and bubbles seem to be all the rage. But just a quick, funny story about bird see: when my mom got remarried, bird seed was the norm. This was in 1997, so Aquanet was everywhere. Anyway, someone threw a giant hand of bird seed and it landed in my mom's curly, heavily hair-sprayed updo. My stepdad thought he'd be helpful and try to knock it out of her hair. She said he nearly pulled her bald. I ended up with bird seed down my dress. Very uncomfortable.

Maybe some sort of handheld streamers that would be easy to dispose of later.

I saw these sticks with long ribbons and bells at hobby lobby that you essentially just shake at the couple. Different than bubbles or sparklers. Plus I thought that would be something that someone could use in place of rice or bird seed if your venue didn’t allow such things or if you didn’t want to pick rice or seeds out of your hair.

    Confetti cannonStuff to throw 2

We have a few Confetti cannons like the one in the pics but it shoots silver and gold confetti. They are pretty big so not everyone will get one but, it will make a visual impact.

My flower girls (my grandmas haha) are throwing dried biodegradable flower confetti down the aisle. We are also doing a sparkly send off at the end of our reception.

I vote bubbles and/or wand ribbons/streamers - these would be fun because they sell glitter gold/silver types and I think that would look really neat in pictures.

I just went to one last week and they did the ribbon wands. We're just doing bells because our venue doesn't allow us to throw things (unless we want to pick it up like flower petals). Glow sticks are cute if it's dark.

We are doing dried lavender, it smells so pretty and the venue allows it because it’s animal/eco friendly so we don’t have to pick anything up after.

You can do biodegradable snow or confetti (so its aloud), full stem flowers, feathers, dried petals (not just rose-maybe lavendar), pom poms (cheerleader or the cottom balls), sprinkles, paper airplanes, ribbon or shake ribbon wands, sparklers, etc
