I ordered a bridesmaid dress from David's Bridal a few weeks ago. This weekend, a series of events lead to myself and several other members of the wedding party being told that we'll no longer be needed for the wedding. I was told the dress won't come in until October. I know their policy online...

I was told the dress won't come in until October. I know their policy online says no returns or exchanges for dresses purchased in store. Has anyone successfully returned a dress, or gotten some kind of exchange or something at a David's Bridal? I'm not sure what I'd exchange it for, but I'd rather not be stuck with a floor-length dress in my least favorite color that I'm never going to wear... If you haven't returned/exchanged, has anyone successfully sold your dress or done anything else with it?

Thanks for any advice, just hoping to find some way to not be out a couple hundred dollars!

Whoa. Yeah, that's just being bitchy. Sorry for your experience! I didn't dictate my girls' hair, nails, and make-up because I care about them as being people/friends, not mannequins.

Does her MOH realize that whoever is left has to pay MORE now? Lol.

Also, show up to the wedding as a guest IN THE BM DRESS. ugh, stick it to them.

You could try small claims court if you want to get serious, but, it prob wouldnt be worth your time unless you took it to Judge Judy.

The least painful solution for you is probably to look for a cute cocktail dress at DB to exchange. Send her a nice little invoice anyway, for good measure. What an ass.

Lia - if you were even remotely still thinking of giving them a wedding gift I say wrap that dress up! (You already know she likes the dress since she picked it out...)

In all seriousness, this chick sounds like a totally crappy person. I would try and exchange for value and get a couple cute cocktail dresses. The earlier suggestion of getting together with the other ex-maids to sell your dresses as a lot is not a bad plan, either, since they will be brand new. Good luck!

Wow! That bride is a biotch! You have been treated terribly by this girl. I can't believe she was ever your friend to begin with. Being a BM is not about being financially responsible for the bride's "perfect vision" of shoes, mani/pedis, hair and makeup, and expensive bachelorette parties. And now being stuck with a dress after she had the nerve to dump you for expressing concern about the financial expectations of the wedding is just beyond rude. I would hound her about money for the dress - she owes you!

Yeah, I now totally agree with Emily. At first I thought "Eh, maybe you can get a cute dress to go out in," but now, GET THAT MONEY BACK!! That bride is a terrible person for making you spend money and then cutting you just because you couldn't fit the rest of her perfect vision. How horrible.
