Stuck between 2 dresses

I bought one and the next day decided it wasn't for me and looked again. I decided based on many factors: what looked more like my style, which was more cost-effective (I didn't want to spend a ton), what was more comfortable to wear for 10 hours and easy to move in (I love to dance) which needs less alterations, etc.

I think its more than just saying "this is the one!" I also tried to be practical in my choice. I also didn't want something so off the wall that in 10 years I looked at pics and thought "why the heck did I pick that!" I try to stay away from a lot of trends that will fade.

I went in knowing the exact styles I wanted. I chose 6 dresses each one was beautiful and I limited it down to two. I tried both on twice. I danced and sat in both. I just knew my dress was my dress. Mine overpowered the other just by a few details. There is something that will stick out more than the other.

I loved the 2nd dress I tried on and actually only tried on a 3rd because I thought there was no way it was that easy to pick a dress. I still love both but the ladies with me were right about the 2nd one. It seemed more like a dress that if it was a different color I could wear it to work because it matched the style of dress I wear to work(but sleeveless). That little difference did it for me. I was pretty sure the 3rd one was it but that solidified it for me. I wanted to look more like a bride than just a little dressier version of work me.

Hi, I know the feeling! I was between 2 dresses and I tried to envision me walking down the aisle in both of them and actually I could only really see myself in one when I closed my eyes.

I was completely torn between two very different dresses! One a ballgown/a-line with lots of poofy tulle and spaghetti straps, and one a more vintage lace vibe in more of a mermaid cut, sweetheart/strapless neckline. Both were very beautiful and very me, and very bridal, just in totally opposite directions. I actually posted photos on here and everyone gave me lots of good feedback and it was fun to hear strangers' opinions on both, but ultimately I didn't decide until I went back and tried on the first one (poofy) again and knew I just felt more special in that one. Even though it's not like I'm ever going to wear a dress exactly like the lace one I loved, I also considered that I really wouldn't ever wear something like the dress I chose and that's partly what swayed me too, just knowing it would be extra special and just for that day. Which dress did you end up going with, Dorothy? Did you make a pros and cons list for both? I found that helps me when I have trouble deciding between two things.

View Quoted Comment After 3 visits I went with the ballgown! I felt more special and timeless in that one instead of the other one. Also my fiancé was scrolling through my pics in my phone and saw the other one. I knew I didn’t want him to see my dress so that also helped sway my decision also.
