Struggling to pick a date!

Laura, on September 24, 2019 at 11:57 AM Posted in Planning 0 13
Finally got Mom on board with venue that FH and I really like. Only problem is, we have to pick between July 25th and November 7th (2020) for a Wisconsin Wedding... This year and last, July 25th was 81 degrees and last year November 7th was 35 degrees. I had my heart set and decided on August 1st last night, but I was a day too late and it was taken. So why am I struggling with July 25th which is only a 1 week difference? I guess timing is a culprit? HELP!

I think July 25 would be ok Smiley smile 81 degrees honestly wouldn't be so bad and it's closer to the date you'd have wanted

I think July 25th would be ok! 81 degrees isn't too bad. I would also think of this way. At least you wouldn't have to worry about potential snow in November! I'm also a Wisconsin bride

Is this an outdoor wedding? If so, I do not think 81 degrees is too bad. Also, you could make cute little fans for the guests and put them on the seats when guests arrive if you are that worried about the temperature. July 25th sounds like a good date (:

I really like the more moderate weather that comes with July, I guess I'm also kind of freaking out with the fact that its 10 months away. I have a great group of girls and my mom has a great group of ladies that will rally with us... I'm just a terrible decision maker. It took me a LONG time to be good with August 1st. The funny part, is I was actually okay with Nov 7th before I saw that Aug 1st was open lol!

None of it is outdoors but there are some
outdoor gathering places that would be great to utilize! It’s funny how more at ease strangers on a forum can put you than people close to you!

I would go with July! Still within the same season you were hoping for, weather doesn't sound too bad.

We got married after being engaged for only 11 months. We got married in July and it was the hottest day of the year at like 100 degrees so 81 is nothing. Our wedding was 100% indoors. We did very limited photos outside because it was so hot, but I don't think 81 would be bad. I would definitely prefer 81 to 35, but I get cold very easily. November can also mean snow which could prevent guests from coming which is what would make me the most nervous about choosing to get married in November.

I would go with July also. Even if it's 81 degrees that day, if you have your wedding in the late afternoon/early evening, the temp will have gone down a bit by then. Perfect weather!

What time of day is your ceremony? If it’s at noon and the average is 81° remember you will be in a heavy dress and makeup. But if it’s at 5 pm it may be 71°

Planning on 4pm ceremony. It’s in a barn and the reception barn has AC!

I'm in Wisconsin and doing July 25th. I'm more of a fall person (I really don't like summer that much), but July 25th is special to us so... summer it is. I too am concerned about the likely hot weather, but this summer there were some really more mild days so I'm crossing my fingers that it isn't too bad. Our ceremony and reception will all be indoors with air conditioning, so I am not super concerned with people getting overheated.
