Both are beautiful, but I'm partial to the mermaid over the a-line.

Depends on your theme/vibe.

The left is more romantic/elegant. The right is more beachy/rustic.

Thank you, Roxana! It's helpful to think about the vibe. I'm having a garden/ballroom wedding, so initially I went with the choice on the left, but I was a little worried it didn't feel like "me." That said, I do like that it's a statement. On the other hand, the choice on the right feels very manageable for me, very comfortable.

Hmmm, that's a tough one.

They both look great on you and while I believe the one on the right has less of a whimsical feel than the other, I certainly don't think it would look out of place with your venue. To me this decision would boil down to comfortability vs, style. If you feel self conscious in the left dress then I'd say that outweighs the pro of it fitting your venue style.

I do like the left better, even though you look GORGEOUS in both. Caution- I have talked to a few women who said if they could do their weddings over, they'd change the dress they wore- Although the dress they had was flattering/beautiful, it didn't feel like "them." I like the left dress for your theme, but go with "you." You will have these memories and pictures for the rest of your life. Ultimately the focus is on the couple and their love, both of you putting your best self out there. People may not remember the theme in a few years.

Nicole, thank you. That's helpful. I"m still so torn: I really feel better in the right one, but the left one is so beautiful too. I wish I could wear both, but neither one of these is really a "reception" dress. I really appreciate your thoughts and really want to avoid regretting my decision.

Wow both are great. i prefer the a line on you but you seem to like the mermaid more. however if you did decide to wear one as a reception dress i really don't see that as a bad thing because although it's fancier than a reception dress people change into, that's not a bad thing

either way whatever you choose it'll be nice.

Definitely the left. I think it looks way better on you than the right. It nips in at your waist and really shows it off. The one on the right makes your waist look a little bigger than it really is, but maybe that's just me. You look beautiful.
