Stressing the details...

Laura, on May 11, 2020 at 10:52 PM Posted in Planning 0 10

We shrank the wedding to 5 immediate family members including us. But... I'm worried about alterations, if my dress will even fit, how to get hair and make up done. Ugh. We're going all out for the small ceremony because our kids will be present - and if the virus that shall not be made screws up spring we'll still be married.

But is anyone else sweating the smaller things??!

You're not the only one Laura! Seems like for me, new changes are having to be made or delayed, but I'm still trying to be hopeful and happy! Stay strong and hang in there! When's your wedding?

It was supposed to be August, but now the plan is to elope with our kids. When we'll be able to do that is up for grabs. I'd say August/September... Smiley heart When is yours?

You aren't the only one! We just want our little backyard shotgun wedding of 6 people to perfect too. I am right there with you. I started complaining about the deck on the patio being faded; mind you I painted it last year... Haven't even thought about hair and make up, let alone who is going to do it... Curse you COVID!

If you have a friend whos good at makeup maybe they can do it, you can also do it yourself as some royal brides do. im sure a makeup/hair artist could love to do it for u but she would just have to wear a mask. even if you had to wear a mask she can focus on the eyes

I totally understand this!! I was thinking the same thing. We have a location but if it falls through... What are we going to do with our house... And then if it rains.... Omg

That still sounds beautiful ❤️ I hope everything goes well with that!! Ours is in July! We're now keeping it to mostly family. So we've cut our list.

We opted for fancy too. My dress, tuxes, flowers, etc. I'm worried next Spring might be a mess - my FH is confident things will have calmed down. But, I read the article from here about weddings will be like post Covid and I'm concerned. So, we'll do a fancy micromony, just in case. Will you go all out? Or just keeping it simple?

Yes I know a lot of people are postponing believing things will be better , and that's their choice but I'd rather get married now just in case they aren't ya know? Nothing is promised! But yes we are still keeping the things that we want. Only thing that might change is the cake. We originally wanted 3 tier cake but since we are cutting back and bakery has been closed (we couldn't book yet) we make do 1 tier with cupcakes or other desserts. As long as it tastes good I don't think it will matter! How are you all doing your dinner or reception?

We're just doing a family dinner depending on what is open. Or we'll stay home. FH knows how to chef - so he might just do it himself. We'd like to eat out - but ... covid. Sigh. And our county is on serious lockdown. We're in St. Louis.

That sounds like a good idea! I really hope everything works out for you Laura , and that you can still enjoy your wedding! I'm sure restaurants have to follow strict protocol with food even if you do decide to eat out!
