Stressed out about cost

What I did- decide on your priorities (ideally with your fiance) and then figure out what you can afford and where the money would come from. If you have a certain number in mind then you can search for things in your price range. Or- elope! Lol nothing wrong with that.

I am CRAZY stressed about money mostly because I'm going for my masters degree soon for an advanced program which means no time for working which means all the money we save if coming from my fiancé on his own and so I'm just worried. We have plenty of time I just like some control and this makes me feel like I have none. Plus all the random things I didn't originally plan for stress me out!

Yes! Super stressed. We’ve had some unforeseen expenses pop up in the last few weeks which we had to dip into our wedding savings for. I’ve booked almost all the major vendors already so I can’t cut back there, so really it’ll be the honeymoon and rehearsal dinner that gets cut back 😬😬

It's crazy. I keep telling my fiancée it's a shame we like our families and want them to be at the wedding!

Yes, I think we've all been there! I can't tell you how many times I've wanted to cancel everything and just take FH somewhere nice to elope!!!

I have certainly been there. One thing I have started asking vendors about is customizing packages as I have come to realize that most can accommodate your budget if you ask. Has worked so far with Photography, DJ & Cake.. thank goodness, lol.

If you’re early enough in the planning have a “pause” break to re-evaluate your plan (change to cheaper venue before you book it, slash guest list, switch from dinner to brunch, etc). If you’re in the middle of it and everything is committed... have a good cry then hang on as you continue to plow ahead (we’ve all been there!!).

Maybe not the route for everyone one but we went for almost everything we wanted. Lots of savings, doing the honey moon next summer and taking a loan for the remaining amount for the wedding

We had our hearts set on a venue but after sitting down and really going over the cost of everything we decided on another venue. It was going to cost about $5,000 more than we planned to have it at the one we fell in love with (that’s 6 months of savings....for one *magical day) and would still have had to cut our guest list. We are happy with our selection and our day will be just as magical!

No because I've only been to 1 wedding in the past 5-7 years but I would LOVE to attend a brunch wedding! (As long as it's not during summer at a hot outdoor venue.) Yum. You wouldn't need dancing/DJ either. Seems so classy. So many adorable decor styles too:

I was prepared for the cost of things, but FH was not. We have had a couple of eye opening reality conversations and have made a couple of adjustments to our guest list/venue ideas/etc. We are looking for the best deals and also DIY.

I have never been so stressed in my life. I feel like I have a meltdown/breakdown at least once a week. I never imagined how expensive every aspect of a wedding really is. I keep trying to find ways to keep the costs down, but it all is still so expensive. I understand what you're going through and I also keep thinking it's not too late to elope or just have a very small intimate wedding with 15 of our immediate family. I keep thinking this should be such a fun and exciting time of my life planning a dream wedding, but the cost/money seriously gets in the way of that. =(

This has been my biggest stressor. It just seems like every time I think we are done with costs something else comes up. It feels like it’s a never ending output of money. We our deposits down on all our vendors and now we have to start paying things off and my stress level is at about 100% right now. 🤦🏾‍♀️
