Stressed February bride 😩

Jessa, on November 11, 2020 at 11:10 AM Posted in New York Planning 0 13
Hi brides !
Feeling like I need emotional support lol
I’m in Queens NY and wedding Venus are not allowed to open in the 5 boroughs.
Restaurants are at 25% and the stress of my wedding approaching with so much uncertainty is just so overwhelming. My fiancé and I have decided not to postpone and to just have whatever we can have on our Feb date. The thought of postponing and then having to keep the stress going is just not an option lol if February isn’t okay, then what date is safe? The waiting game isn’t fun.Not sure if anyone is in a similar situation but I am really just over this whole thing.Of course people will continue to get the virus, but we have treatments and now positive news with a vaccine - why does it have to control our lives?Feeling frustrated and just needed to vent lol 💫🤍

    I'm sorry you're so stressed.

The reason we still have restrictions - and might get more - is because the virus is still spreading out of control, and it's still very dangerous. People are still dying, and those who survive take a long time to get better. A vaccine still won't be widely available before February, unfortunately. (I, for one, am high risk, and have barely left my apartment since March.)

It's very frustrating trying to plan right now, I know, but it's probably best to have a Plan B, just in case.

It’s super stressful not knowing what’s happening or can happen. I’m in Queens too but most of my family (including parents) are in other states, so most likely I’m postponing. Am still playing it by ear at this point, but have been communicating with the venue and the guests through out, so it’s helped with that stress. It’s mostly just disappointing and frustrating not knowing. At least if I postpone I may be able to have things I didn’t this year (shower, bachelorette, etc). Trying to find the silver lining

I completely understand the stress! I’ve been playing it by ear, we have a date set, but no particularly venue let alone an idea of capacity with guests. It’s important to remember to always keep smiling and wade through those moments with cheer.

Sending hugs and support from Brooklyn!

I know exactly how your feeling my wedding is on February 21st I’m also in Long Island New York and my venue has not giving us any updates but keeps cashing my fathers checks. The thought of postponing was never an option for me but My fiancé thinks differently. I’ve dreamt of my wedding since I was a little girl. The amount of stress and anxiety I am having for the first time ever is so draining. I hate people asking me about my wedding and all the negative comments. I manage to have my bridal shower and bachelorette which I’m glad I did. But my wedding my guest all the preparation are left unknown. Can I just get married and enter my new chapter in my life with my future husband.

    I couldn’t agree more .
I had my shower and bachelorette too but this should be such a happy time and instead I’m so scared.
I meet with my venue in December 3 to make some decisions. We will explore all options bc we do not want to postpone either.Best of luck to you girl !

I understand - if I had family from out of state I probably would postpone to but it’s just so risky. No matter when you move it to, it’s a gamble unless it’s 2022 lmao
I wish you all the best girl !
The most important thing is that you’ll be married

It would totally be 2022! 😂🤷🏻‍♀️ Wish you all the best too!! It may not be the way we planned, but we will be married and you’re right, that’s the most important thing.

Can this all just be over. 2020 flew by and I don’t know how. Saw someone on TikTok saying we may be forced another lockdown 4-6 weeks. Stress level just went to 1000. We will also be meaning with the venue after Thanksgiving. Best of luck Too. 😀

I feel you! I cry every morning on my way to work. I’m in upstate - Saratoga Springs NY, and our venue is closed thru 12/31 ..... we’re supposed to be 2/20 and I don’t have it in me yet to pull it. Impatiently awaiting a calll from the venue to let us know they’re opening 😢

Ugh I completely understand. Stay strong. The vaccine will be out next month and by January , things may calm down.
No matter what you can get married on your day Smiley smile
