Stress Level

Courtney, on February 4, 2020 at 6:52 PM Posted in Planning 0 16
My wedding is either going to be 8.22.2020 or 10.10.20. This all depends on the wedding venue that we are going to meet Saturday. Anyway, my stress level is a 10 today. There are so many things I want for my dream wedding, but my budget is only 8K not including my wedding dress. I’m sure I’ll go over this amount. Just trying to figure everything out is driving me to binge eat...uuugggghhh.

Here's the reality. Your dream wedding is marrying your soon to be husband. This may mean you have to cut back. I would think about what are the priorities. For me it was photography and my dress. I was not going to break the bank on the venue but I wanted memorable photos and amazing photographers. You may need to cut the guest list because receptions are the expensive part. You have a great, dream wedding without breaking the bank. You got this.

I'd just focus on one thing at a time. It's a lot easier that way.
It tends to be overwhelming, if you try to look at the big picture.

Once you get your Venue, you will feel so accomplished and relieved. Then, it will all fall into place.
Our budget was 10k starting out, we then realized that was impossible to do, even with a small wedding.
We got alot of great deals and as a floral designer, I'm doing my own flowers and decorations.
I pray that you can get the wedding of your dreams and stay in budget.
Budget fail for me. Luckily our engagement was 16 months, so with 4 months to go we are still saving .
Our venue accepted a monthly payment plan which helped too.Try not to worry! It will be ok!Let me know how it goes❤

Thank you for the advice on focusing on the important things. Are you also having a videographer?

I may have to push the wedding back until 2021 to allow for us to save money. I know that will be a huge help.

I am considering the splurge but that is where I can go a little cheaper. I would say to have a great day really do some digging. At first everything can seem super expensive but often you can find something more affordable. What is your current estimated guest list number? I think $8,000 is very doable. Which area do you live in?

Honestly, it goes by soooo fast!
We started at 478 days...we are down to almost 120.

It will definitely help you stress wise and you can buy things as they go on sale for next year.
The extra time has helped us tremendouslySmiley smileGood luck and hugs to you whatever decision you make.

I think South Carolina can be affordable compared to like NYC and major metro cities. Are you dead set on this venue? Have you considered country clubs?

I live NYC by the way. My venue alone is 5,400, but I’m having the ceremony and reception there. It’s absolutely beautiful.

But the location is South Carolina? Does that include reception in the price or just the venue?

Typo earlier, lol! Meant to say I LOVE NYC! Yes, the wedding and reception will be held in the same place.

No, it’s separate. I’m thinking about having family cater the food and bring it in.

I know you are set on those two dates, but Friday and Sunday weddings are much cheaper than Saturday weddings.

We are DIYing a lot to save costs, but I would focus on your must haves and then go from there. My must haves were the photographer, and my dress. I don't care about the cake, and I don't really care about the centerpieces (although they are kinda stressing me out right now), and my FH's must haves were the photographer and a certain bar package. From there, we have been able to figure out what how we can save.
