Millissa , on July 17, 2019 at 8:58 PM Posted in Fitness and Health 0 16
Has anyone else had stress hives? It feels like the closer we get to our wedding date (August 23rd) the more i stress out. This week i have been breaking out in hives so bad they cover my whole body

I recently had a bout of hives but I think it was mainly due to allergies. Hives are no fun Smiley sad Hope they clear up soon!

I used to get really aggressive stress hives in college. Aloe helped mine a bit.

Try your best to manage your stress (I know it's not easy). They should clear up in a few days.

Also, I don't know where you live but heat and humidity can make them worse - try your best to keep cool (cold showers can help).

    Good luck!

Hey Mellissa! I’m so sorry that this is happening! There is nothing more irritating and frustrating than hives.

I totally agree with the pps though. Perhaps you could take an afternoon or evening off from thinking about your wedding and have some you-time. You could catch up with some friends or have a date night with your SO where no one is allowed to talk about your wedding. I think that stepping back from your wedding for a couple of hours would really help.

I've had stress hives before and they were the worst! I'm sorry this is happening to you so close to your wedding. Smiley sad I think you need to try and take some time to relax and not worry about any wedding stuff. I hope they clear up soon!

When I get stressed I normally drink some water and put some cream on where I’m itching 😕

I have had stress hives for a few days as well. I've been taking nonprescription antihistamines and using a cold compress. It works!

Yup.... I had them for 3 weeks before my wedding. They were so bad I had to go to the dr to get a steroid cream. That and water helped tremendously. They were gone about a week after the wedding.

Yep. My date is August 17. I've found that Zyrtec has kept them under control.

I'm sorry this is happening to you! I have a twitch in my eye, and I'm useless at doing work. I think meditation and trying to focus on other stuff is a good plan...

Definitely a chronic stress hive-er here. Find ways to manage the stress— drink tea, take a walk, get some exercise (punch a heavy bag!)— and for the symptoms as they happen, cold compresses help also for the itching a hot shower (it sounds horrid, but it’ll itch like heck and then will actually naturally deplete your body of histamine (as opposed to using meds) and you’ll be able to sleep soundly without itching.

I have heard about stress hives. I had them recently but not about my wedding next year, they were from being stressed about having thing lined up with the dog sitter for our family vacation.

No hives but stress acne absolutely! Its been a roller coaster of a year so far and my skin is definitely reflecting it. Hopefully things ease up for you so you can get back to your normal self! You're almost there!
