Street Parking - MAP??

Emma, on November 16, 2017 at 11:45 AM Posted in Planning 0 8

So my reception is downtown (a small town), but there are limited parking "lots" there is ample street parking (no charge). How do I communicate to my guests where to park? I was thinking about highlighting different lots/ areas of streets on a map as an enclosure card.

For my ceremony (a church) there is a small parking lot, but we own the lot across a grove. Again how should I explain to guests of their parking options? The grove will be open to walk directly from the lot to the church (maybe 300 feet)

Thank you in advance!

I like your idea of creating a map as an enclosure card.

It is not uncommon to include such information on an enclosure card. You can also include it on your website.

Do you have parkopedia where you live? It is a website to look up street and lot parking near a specific address.

I was planning on doing a site map on my website , but it's also private property so I will have signs up day-of.

In your case the info on an enclosure card sounds good , that way you know that everyone has gotten the information. If you have a hotel/block, you can also have that information printed out and available to give to guests at check in

I put a map on our website. I used google maps. I put in the address of the venue. Then I clicked on "nearby" and entered "parking lots". I took a screen shot and pasted it into PowerPoint (see pic attached). In PowerPoint, I added text boxes, arrows, etc. and saved the entire image as a jpeg and added it to the wedding website. On the evite, I had "for more information about hotels and parking, please visit ...".

I included an enclosure card map. Our wedding is in a university chapel and it might just be me but I find universities to be the most confusing things to get around ever. So I marked the chapel and then surrounding parking lots.
