Streaming options?

Ilana, on June 30, 2020 at 2:34 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 11
We are going ahead with our end of July wedding! Unfortunately this time around a lot of family that is out of state and/or country are not able to attend. I would love to live stream just the ceremony part. I am lost at where to begin. I know zoom is an option, but I know my grandma will have a hard time with it ( It will be the middle of the night where she is and she will not have help) . Skype is best for her while zoom would work for everyone else. How do I go about all this? Do I ask somebody ( a guest) to manage it? Do we use a phone? What have you done that worked well? I would love to have it recorded too so I can see those guests later! Any advice helps!

An you do a trial run with her before hand? So she’s familiar with the platform and how it works.

Check with your photographer and/or videographer and see if this is a service they have (or recently picked up due to covid demand for streaming services).

You could just have one guest Skype her and another person do zoom.

My videographer is offering to live stream the ceremony for us for $250. He will go live on Facebook live through our private wedding FB group. He said he prefers FB live over Zoom because the video saves and can be replayed for others later.

    There is FB rooms!

Facebook rolled out this service called "rooms" and you dont have any time limit, you dont even need an account and you can do it on any device. it only holds up to 50 people though. you don't have to download any kind of app or anything either.

Our church is going to livestream via YouTube and they gave us heads up that YouTube will cut off quick if any music is copyrighted. Just something to keep in mind.

We decided against live-streaming and just uploaded the video later as unlisted on YouTube to share with family! It worked better for us with multiple different time zones and people working. Plus, I was able to just send the link and even my least tech-savvy aunt had zero issues with it.

As was previously mentioned, YouTube live-streaming is also a great option!

Is it possible to have someone Facetime her separately?

DH's grandfather couldn't make it to our wedding due to health issues, so we asked DH's teenage cousin to take a phone and Facetime him. It worked out perfectly!

I think Rebecca has a great suggestion! Could a specific family member be in charge of skyping / facetiming her separately?
