Strapless dress

Best acne medicine/body wash for a couple of blemishes on the back or shoulder? I am wearing a strapless dress and have a tiny bit of stubborn acne!

I'm not sure what type of acne you're struggling with, but I've got these tiny red bumps (almost look like freckles honestly) on the outside of my upper arms and my upper back that I'm pretty sure is "keratosis pilaris" based off of Google. I had been trying super hard to make sure I scrub those areas really well when I shower since it's caused by build-up of dead skin I think, but it turns out that making sure those areas are moisturized has helped way more than any cleansing product/method I've tried. I've never really paid attention to moisturizing those parts of my body, but I use Curel Ultra Healing lotion almost every day and it's already starting to look a lot better in only a week or so.

If it's just a few small blemishes, I like the Neutrogena body wash with salicylic acid. There's a pink grapefruit version, but I prefer the regular orange one. It will take probably a week of daily use to see a difference. If it's Keratosis Pilaris like Amber described (which I've had since I was a kid), and you have a lot of red bumps, moisture and a gentle sugar or salt scrub is very helpful.

I'd see a dermatologist to see if they can prescribe a wash or treatment to help. I'd just develop a good skincare routine (that includes neck, chest & back). Typically for back acne, showering is very important everyday (and immediately after doing something where you sweat like working out) and not sleeping with things like lotion on your back. Plus wearing cotton & other clothes that breath are helpful. Wash your sheets & pajamas & bath towels pretty consistently. I'd perfect some kind of body scrub with salicylic acid in it and not wear super tight clothing. After you condition & wash out your hair, make sure to wash your back to get everything off. I would also get some kind of scrub brush to wash your back in the shower everyday. Tons of medical spas do things like back facials, I'd get one of those too! One note is, things like salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide, and retinoids don't work for all skin types but if you know one works for your face already that would be good to try! Also drinking a ton of water & eating healthy.

You could try activated charcoal soap! Also, are you having a professional makeup artist? Because they should be able to cover it up too in the event that you can’t get rid of it by the wedding

Ahhhhh my doctor told me it was Kp! They are very small bumps. I have them in the back of my arms and on my thighs.

So this may sound weird, and I can honeslty confirm this works, but try using head and shoulders shampoo on the acne spots. In a day or two the bumps will be gone. I swear it works!

I went to a spa and had a "back facial" to get some targeted treatment done. This will take care of blackheads, whiteheads and dry skin. If you have a couple treatments between now and May it should clear up and help with future breakouts. Find a place with a reasonable price. If nothing else, they're super relaxing. :-)
