Strapless dress slippage..

Jenny, on May 16, 2015 at 7:52 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 8

Ok, ladies. I'm a solid D cup, and my beautiful strapless dress is back from alterations, but I wore it to show my BM yesterday.. and in the 20 minutes I had it on, I definitely had to pull it up. The cups are sewn in and I will not be wearing a bra.

Any chance fashion tape will fix this?

ETA: I really don't think it's an alterations issue.. the dress fits like a glove.

My dress has...almost like a bra strap/corset built in to help keep it in place.

Like extra boning? Mine does not. Blah. I'll have to figure something out.

Strapless is so pretty but I've never seen anyone wear it who didn't constantly hoist up the dress. Let us know what you find please!

My strapless dress had like a Velcro strap in the middle of the back that helped hold it in place. I also had a strapless bra sewn in, and the dress had a lot of boning. It stayed up.

You should ask a good tailor about this. Fashion tape won't fix your problem. Where is your dress from? Usually strapless wedding dresses have boning built in and are constructed so that they won't fall down. A seamstress might want to sew in a strapless bra or add some boning. I don't know if cups are enough for a D. I know you said it fits like a glove, but falling down means it doesn't fit you as well as it should, so I would get help.

Ahhh, I call those brides hitch hikers -- hiking up the dresses with their thumbs all the way through the ceremony and it looks terrible. I don't know if the dress is actually slipping or if the bride just is not comfortable and doesn't trust it NOT to slip.

I am a D and I wore a strapless.. the only time I was pulling it up was about 1/2 way through the night and someone pulled my aside to the bathroom and tightened my corset up for me. I was fine after that for the rest of the night. maybe you can see if you can get extra boning in yours to keep it up
