Strapless bra VS cups

Destiny, on February 25, 2016 at 6:14 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 24

When I was talking with my bridal salon about undergarments, they said that I can get cups sewn into my dress so I do not have to wear a strapless bra. I am a 34 DD, and do not know if this will really work with my cup size! What are all of you lovely brides doing? Also I will post a pic of my dress! Thanks in advance for all of your opinions!

Gorgeous dress! I don't know an answer but I'm the same size so I guess I should follow!

I'm a larger B and loved having cups sewn into my bra, especially since my dress was backless. Not sure how well they'd work with DDs though.

The cups would probably be more comfortable. The strapless bra I have for my dress keeps everything in but is super tight.

If you need the support, I would suggest a longline bra that you won't have to be constantly pulling up, rather than a strapless bra!

I tried the stick-on types and some contraption, that advertised itself as backless and strapless. Neither worked. I'm a 38D.

I purchased a u plunge bra from vs, but my consultant at the bridal salon said they don't work. I'm taking the bra back. I'm going to have cups sewn in.

My seamstress is taking a bra i love (i bought a brand new one of the same style for her to use) removing the straps and sewing it into my dress. best of both worlds. however, im not super busty and the top of my dress has boning so this may not work for everyone.

First off, I am in love with your dress!!! We have similar style Smiley smile

I'm 34 D and have trouble finding strapless bras that I find comfortable. I'm considering asking when I go to purchase my dress if sewing in cups would be a good idea.

Gorgeous dress! What designer and style is it? My understanding is that the support level of sewn-in cups depends on the internal construction of the dress. If it's got good boning and a corset-back, or even internal corset, they're more likely to do a good job.

Have a strapless bra ready and with you, when you start your fittings the seamstress should be able to figure out what will work best for you. Before we started the fittings I tried my dress on for the seamstress with and without a bra (my dress is a corset back with built in structure.) Turns out that I'm too busty to go without a bra even with that set up (but I'm a larger cup size than you as well.) Sewing an actual bra into your dress is also an option.

I'm a little bigger than a DD and I'm having my cups sewn in. I've actually done this with a formal dress in the past and it turned out really well! I would recommend it!

I'm a 36 D and I had cups sewn in. It was the best decision ever. I hate strapless bras. I was so comfortable all day.

I would have cups sewn in. I'm a 34 D so when I wear a strapless I'm constantly yanking it up

What are you wearing there? I got a longline bra with garter belt built in from Bare Necessities. I'm a 36DDD. I can't imagine having cups sewn in...

I wear size 36F and my dress has a built in bra and corset. It looks and feels good. I don't need a bra. I think you should get the cups. I'm sure they'll be able to fit your cup size.
