Strangely calm

Rose, on January 29, 2020 at 9:24 AM Posted in Planning 0 9

I'm getting married this Saturday and I'm strangely calm. Does anyone else feel that way??? My FH is the nervous one...he's nervous about the lady decorating our restaurant private room because she's a little hyper and inattentive but I'm the same way so I'll just let her roll with it. Honestly, it seems small in the scheme of things. I'm more concerned with peeing in my mermaid dress. LOL!

It’s great that you are calm. Hopefully with that attitude you will be able to enjoy everything. Some brides are so worked up that they miss so many of the moments of their special day. Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!!

I was so calm the week of the wedding and even the day of, my H on the other hand was a little nervous. My mom even commented "did you take something? you are way too calm" - well I hadn't taken anything but what I did do was make sure I felt great, lots of sleep, exercise and tons of water that week. Not sure if any of it helped but I felt great. Lots of luck to you enjoy every single second, it goes by way too quick.

Thanks Jennifer! I've definitely been working out and eating way better. I've also just started drinking more water so I won't be bloated.

I feel you! I'm about 2 weeks away and I'm super chill. Everyone keeps asking, "Aren't you so nervous? Are you just going nuts with last minute stuff?" Like... no. I planned this wedding for a year. I purchased things in advance. I set aside money. I cried the tears. I had the angry, sleepless nights. I ate a lot of comfort food - then I dieted. I bought the dress. I have the bridesmaids. I've got a groom. I'm good.

I'm actually surprised at how unstressed I am. I thought I'd be running around like crazy! I have a feeling the day before and day of will be nuts but I'm mentally preparing myself for it and have my timeline almost worked out. I'm excited! I'm more excited about the honeymoon at this point, but that's because I could use the vacation.

    You're almost there! Smiley heart

I think it's good you're calm. I was told I was calm too aha. I was more calm than my husband on the day of too. I read so many bam posts here it really helped ease my mind about things aren't always going to go as expected but they're going to be fine anyway

I was calm! And so was my husband. We just aren't people that get stressed easily so it made sense. We both really enjoyed our entire wedding weekend & wedding. It helped being so calm because our wedding got so much rain we had to move our ceremony & cocktail hour inside, and we lost power for a little while!

Honestly, I was really calm the week of my wedding, too. A little stressed every once in a while for the tiny last-minute details (or say, when my contact dropped out of my eye right before our fight rehearsal in the space), but DH and I worked really hard to have as much as possible done before the week of the wedding. This allowed us spend time with our family, relax, and focus on each other.
AS for bathroom breaks - do one RIGHT before you get in the dress. That way you can put off dealing with the dress and a bathroom break for as long as possible!

Enjoy the calm, enjoy the week, and have a fabulous day!
