Store bought veil v. Homemade veil

Brianna, on May 30, 2021 at 9:04 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 11
When I was dress shopping, I found a gorgeous cathedral length veil that matched my dress but there were two issues:
1. Way too much veil
2. The store wanted $300+ For it, which is outrageous in my opinion
My aunt also offered me her bridal head piece to rework as a veil- all the ladies in my family are quite crafty, so it wouldn’t be too much trouble to vamp it up. The problem is the headpiece doesn’t match my dress as perfectly as the store bought veil.
Can I get your thoughts? Should I shell out for the perfect veil, keep shopping for something less pricey, or take my aunt’s offer to rework her headpiece?

Check out Amazon! I tried on a fingertip length veil at the bridal salon that had some subtle beading on the edges, and it cost about $300. I found an identical veil on Amazon for $30 and a two tiered, which I liked more, for $50.

I would keep shopping for something less pricey.

My alterations lady is actually making mine, maybe you could ask yours if she does that? It is going to be way less than the bridal store wanted to charge.

The bridal store is doing my alterations, so I don’t think that would be an option.

I agree. I got mine from. Amazon. I ordered a couple that offered free returns and kept the one I liked best and returned the others.

I found mine from a bridal consignment shop chapel (?) length with beaded edging for $70! I say keep shopping for something cheaper.

I wore my mom's veil from 1972 - had to have it taken off of a *horrid* headband thing - it had obviously been stored for 45 years - it went perfectly, even though it didn't "match" per se.

Agree with trying Amazon. I found a beautiful veil with pearls for less than 50.00

Check out Azazie, I was able to get a gorgeous chapel veil for just about $50. I don't remember if they carry cathedral length but my fuzzy memory vaguely remembers seeing some!
