Stop & Shop/Grocery Store Flowers

Lexi, on August 6, 2015 at 8:55 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 20

Hello Ladies!

As we know, flowers are very expensive. I'm considering using Stop & Shop for my bridal party and bride bouquet. The prices are great. Is anyone else doing this or have done this? If so, what are your thoughts? Thanks!

I'm thinking about Stop n Shop too. How are the prices? What are you getting?

And for those not in the north east, Stop n Shop is like Kroger or Safeway.

I've actually been thinking about this too. My friend used them for her wedding and she highly recommended them. She said they were fresh beautiful and huge! I was thinking of them or Costco. But she said she didn't spend more then $200 and loved them all.

I was a bridesmaid last year for a friend and she used Stop and Shop for her flowers. They did a good job and the prices were very reasonable.

Since my only flowers will be in the bouquets and those will be small we ate stopping at Costco and grabbing what ever they have that goes worth the wedding lol. Their regular prices for 24 roses is 15 so my flowers will be very cheap.

I've heard great things so I decided to try. I had a consultation today, and the florist showed me a mock based on picks I showed her (I'm using fall color mixed flowers w/roses and berries...cream colored roses w/diamonds in the center of each rose for me), and I was quite happy! For 4 BM and my bouquet it costs $230.00 w/tax. Very affordable...think I'll go with them!

This is great, not the first time I've been told to check out a grocery store's flowers so I'll definitely be sure to do so now!

We have HEB stores in Texas and I seriously considered using them. Great prices, but I ended up going with a florist who would do all of the setup/teardown.

I'm doing babys breath from costco or flowerexplosion.com and grocery store flowers. I will have BB in the chapel, but will have BB and the flowers at the reception. I figured if I went real simple with the flowers it would be easy to manage. Small vases with 1-3 larger flowers in them. I've also considered buying large $5-10 pots of mums when they come out and cutting pieces for the vases. I've been going around to different Krogers in my area looking at their selection which will change a bit as fall approaches, but the quality of the flowers look great. All the larger bouquets range from $8 - $25 and other flowers like mums and carnations around $5 +/-.

    MrsA2B, mums don't smell nice -- I wouldn't use them as centerpieces.

Our florist works at AJ's in their floral department during the week and does weddings on the weekends. Costco didn't have any flowers that I really liked and we ended up paying the same amount with our florist than if we got what we wanted (but different flowers) through Costco.

Here's my DIY centerpiece I made with flowers from Stop & Shop ($10.32 a bushel/pre-ordered). Each bushel makes 2 centerpieces. The vase is $1.00 from the Dollar Store...here's the result. I love it! I also ordered my 4 BM's bouquets, bridal bouquet, FH boutonnière for $218.00! Going back for MOB/MIL flowers. Can't wait to see everything on my wedding day!!! Grocery store flowers are the way to go Smiley smile

I think that is a great idea!. I am not sure why Stop and Shop flowers last longer then flowers from a florist. Make sure you sign up for coupons, sometimes they send 10% off your order coupons in the mail.

    It looks gorgeous!

Come September I'll be working with different options to see what works. If the mums do smell I won't use them, but I will try them out. I prefer little or no fragrance.

My hairdresser got married last year and used Safeway. The flowers were beautiful and very reasonably priced. I haven't looked into it yet, but I plan on contacting the same person she used at Safeway.
